The new WorkflowRx software organizes the work for the pharmacy technicians and
prioritizes the automated dispensing and unit-dose packaging activities. Depending on the
hospital’s medication dispensing system, the integration of SafetyPak packagers with the
automated storage and dispensing carousel system either prepares patient-specific, unit-

The ScanREQ® program is designed to allow the caregiver to quickly and easily issue
items to patients. This produces a patient charge for the item, if necessary, and tracks the
on-hand balances for inventory management purposes. The on-hand quantity for each item
is used to determine the replenishment of that item when an electronic order is placed.
This electronic order is placed from the Material Management area using the Inventory
Module (InvSys) software.
