Anthony Rechichi Architect is an experienced residential, mixed use and
commercial architect with over 25 years of experience working together
with local and national clients. We believe that Architecture is a learned
discipline. It takes hard work and dedication to achieve a great result.
Therefore we see it as 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration.
To us, when it comes to designing a house, our role is not just to
solve the functional pragmatic issues that must be dealt with but
to deliver a home that speaks of its occupants in a very personal
manner.
A home is where families are raised, values are taught and daily
life takes place. It must become their sacred ground and their
sanctuary and must enrapture their spirit of place.
Therefore we are committed to enhance life through thoughtful
and considered building design. Whether the project is a small low
cost house or a luxury residence or a commercial building, the
same level of dedication, skill and hard work is required and is
implemented to bring the dream to reality. Every building that we

We use the latest 3D technologies to help our clients and key
stakeholders to better understand the complexities and intricacies
of ideas, sites and spatial organizations while also speeding up the
design and documentation process.

restaurants in the hospitality sector and small retail centres.
Project management
Our project management skills have lead us to manage a variety of
building projects ranging from bespoke residential houses through to small
commercial buildings. We are well versed in contract management and
understand the intricacies of the building industry. We engage with builders
and subcontractors on a daily basis to achieve in order to the desired
outcome.
Construction management
We are well versed in construction management and have undertaken the
management of an entire project on behalf of Owner/Builders who do not
wish to contract with a builder but require assistance and expertise in order
to build their project.

The building industry is going through a revolution that continues to
evolve which is driven by the rapid advances of technology. We are
always seeking and researching these new technologies in order to
obtain a creative or efficiency edge from our competitors.
One of the great recent advances in the architectural industry is
the migration from 2D design and drafting to 3D modeling and BIM
(Building Information Modeling).
Anthony holds license for AutoCAD 2015 and Revit 2015 and uses
both systems in the various stages of design.
Revit enables the visualisation and appearance of a proposal in 3D
as it is designed to use from conception stage through to completion
of contract documentation and ready for construction. This speeds
up the design and documentation process and enables interactivity
between all consultants to be handled seamlessly and provides for
accuracy and clarity.
It also facilitates quantity surveying measures to be undertaken
quickly and efficiently.
The office houses six workstations and its own server with capacity
for migration to cloud based computing as it becomes a more
commonplace, and has its own colour laser printers in A3 and A1
format.
Extensive use of the entire adobe suite of programmes including
Photoshop, Indesign and acrobat is constantly used.
We are always exploring new programs and technologies that
further add to the BIM platform.

Anthony is the principal of the firm who started his
firm in 1991 and has been practicing his brand of
architecture ever since. His buildings are of enduring
quality that reflects the visions of his clients and
embraces the attributes of the sites that he works
with. Whether he is dealing with institutional or
corporate clients, property developers or business
owners, individuals and/or their families, he
approaches every situation with the same level of
dedication and discipline. Every building he designs

Anthony has 15 years of experience at all stages of
the design delivery process. He has developed the
skills, either in the capacity as team leader working
autonomously or as a team member to create design
solutions that effectively addresses all constraints
and opportunities in an efficient and professional

towards the firm’s reputation for delivering quality
design products.
Thomas Cianflone
Graduate Architect
Thomas is a Graduate Architect from the Academy
of Architecture of Mendrisio (Switzerland). He is an
enthusiastic person and has a genuine passion for
architecture, having been influenced by his father.
He has been working in the field throughout his
architectural education and prior to completing his
degree, he has worked for Architecture at its Best
as a Graduate Architect and is currently with us
since July 2014. So he has been exposed to a lot of
different projects.

Graduate Architect
Kanda is a committed team player, motivated,
hard worker and willing to learn different aspects
of architectural industry. Oriented architectural
designer/draftsperson with 5 years of experience
assisting in all phases of design and construction and
coordinating with directors, contractors, consultants,

Leederville, WA
Two storey private residence on small lot with
rear private courtyard.
An urban infill project to design a house that
embodies the existing qualities and spirit of
the inner urban suburb of Leederville. Aimed
at harmonising into the existing aesthetic and
heritage values of this narrow street, this house
achieves this goal by espousing to a modern
contemporary approach without referencing
or slavishly reproducing the past. It optimizes
sustainable design principles through reliance
on insulation and passive solar heating and
natural light via a north-facing courtyard.
Attadale Residence
Applecross, WA
Three storey luxury residence on a large steeply
sloping site lot with rear private courtyard.
This project sits very high above the Swan River
and entails a family home of approx.1180m2
in
area, with 6 bedrooms built on a lot of approx.
1076m2
. This buildings’ form was inspired
by the built form of the Aeolian architecture
where the Sicilian and Cyclades islands of the
Mediterranean Sea are characterised by white
washed sun kissed buildings that envelope
those beautiful deep blue waters. It is also
the proud heritage from which the client hails,
namely, the Sicilian Island of Lipari. Envisaged
was a modern interpretation of this archetype
that embraces modernist (quasi Meier-ist)
principles in which ‘’layers of white” was to
become its “mantra”.

An urban fringe project to design a house for a
small family on a long narrow steeply sloping
lot in the outer urban suburb of Wembley. This
demonstrates our capacity to deliver modern
contemporary design solutions for narrow small
lots with difficult characteristics in terms of
terrain and geography.
This high end project features clever use of
lightweight construction aimed at providing
a modern aesthetic that accommodates the
needs of a family of 4 with young children.

strata titledTownhouses on a small fringe suburb
of North Perth. The five two storey townhouses
have three bedroom on the upper floor and
living areas on the ground floor with outdoor
private courtyards all facing north. This project
demonstrates our capacity to deliver modern
contemporary design solutions for small lots
with an high quality level of accommodation
sufficient to meet the needs of a family of 3.
Pennant Apartments

2 x Two storey Single bedroom dwellings on a
small lot.
An urban infill housing project two, two storey
strata titled single bedroom dwellings on a lot
of approximate 120m2
. Each dwelling contains
ground floor living with and accessible north
facing courtyard and a single bedroom and
bathroom on the upper with an accessible
north facing balcony. The dwellings form part
of a redevelopment of a corner lot of 430m2
and so designed to be undertaken in a staged
manner. The project embodies sustainable
design principles through reliance on insulation
and passive solar heating and natural light via a
north-facing courtyard.

Lockwood Street Dwellings
Yokine, WA
This small 320m2
green titled lot was purchased
by our client with the aim of delivering a small
compact multiple dwelling developments
that provides a sneak peak into the future of
medium density residential development and
how small compact residential apartments can
be accommodated onto a small suburban lot
and deliver much needed affordable housing
stock. As a result, three dwellings were created
over two levels. The upper floor contains two
dwellings and the ground floor contains 1
dwelling with the necessary and required car
parking configured to not be visible from the
street.
Mill point apartments
South Perth, WA
8 x 8 storey three bedroom apartments with two
x two storey penthouses.
Located along the prestigious Mill Point Rd in
South Perth with extensive views overlooking
the Swan river this project demonstrates our
capacity to maximize the potential of a small lot
and maximise the development yield.
An important consideration was the projects
buidability within a very tight time frame which
dictated the type of construction to be used.
In this case a precast concrete solution was
adopted that required the building to be erected
within 8 months of commencement.

Cloverdale 28 Multiple Dwellings
Cloverdale, WA
A 28 multiple dwellings and 2 grouped dwellings
covering 4 adjoining lots for a private developer
who is seeking a commercial gain.
The site is located in a split residential zone of
R20/60 on Abernethy rd Cloverdale. Abernethy
road has recently undergone a major traffic
transformation and is now linked directly linked
into Roe Hwy and therefore the airport. The site
configuration has lead to some difficult design
challenges not just as a result of its oddly shape
but also as a result of the local authority vehicle
access plan that restricts access fromAbernethy
road. This has lead to a solution that provides
for traffic ingress and egress to be realised from
the rear of the sites and onto the secondary
street. Opportunities were thus seen with this
model to provide for a new internal street that
paved way for its inclusion into the public realm
and that the street integrates with the private
open space and informs the amenity with
clarity and legibility. Further opportunities were
seen that facilitate the creation of various and
diverse housing types achieving the housing
mix and diversity sufficient to enable housing
to enable the project to become viable and
deliver affordable outcomes. Apartments are
either 1 or two bedrooms with some being dual
key. An important consideration was to achieve
a permanently accessible internal street void
of security gates at entrances and exit points.
Security is maintained at the individual level as
if the internal street was a public road.
Albany Highway - Mixed Use
Beckenham, WA
A mixed use development on 2 lots of 2146m2
,
comprising commercial offices suites and 6 one
bedrooms multiple dwellings. The residential
apartments sit above the ground floor office,
each with their own separate ground floor entry.
The central objective of this project was the
ability to create a live/work environment wherein
the residential component and office suite can
be combined if desired. In addition the project
has sought to articulate and separate the two
uses in the case of a larger office tenant or
occupier thereby creating legibility of function.
The separation has been handled by the
creation of a new internal street and landscaped
central courtyard providing the development
with usable public realm amenity.

John Hughes Prestige
Victoria Park, WA
Two storey Motor vehicle sales showroom.
This small commercial development was
purposed designed for the display and sales
of prestige motor vehicles and is located
strategically located at the very beginning of
the Commercial district of Victoria park which
currently consists of a motor vehicle sales
enclave. This project demonstrates the capacity
to maximise the development potential of a
very narrow lot and long lot that contained a
very restrictive development road widening
covenant further restricting its development to
a maximum of 7m wide.
Merlino Furniture Head Office
O’Connor, WA
This project demonstrates the capacity to
maximise and reinvigorate an existing sawtooth
industrial building and convert it into a large
showroom and warehouse for a global furniture
wholesaler and distributor. The development
also demonstrates the architects capacity
to stage a development and extend the size
of the buildings as and when the company
expands without impost on the operations
and management of the business. A thorough
understanding of the ability to re-use the
existing structure and adapt it to the needs of
the client and ensure the growth and expansion
is kept intact meant undertaking and acquiring
an in-depth knowledge of client needs and both
current and future

Single Motor vehicle sales showroom.

This small commercial development was
purposed designed for the display and sales
of prestige motor vehicles and is located
strategically located in the semi industrial heart
of the Cannington Industrial precinct..
This project demonstrates the capacity to
maximise the development potential of a
small and oddly shaped lot with pre-existing
development having taken place across off of
its common boundary lines.

Paradise Karaoke
Northbridge, WA
This project involved the adaptive re-use of
an existing old sawtooth rood warehouse
building converted into an entertainment centre
predominantly for karaoke and dining.
Specifically targeting the current wave of
interest in talent TV shows this idea stems
from the Japanese model of karaoke that is
also particularly popular in the rest the Asian
community in Perth. The project involved the
conversion and change of use of the existing
building into 11 private karaoke rooms and
associated ablution facilities and a fully
functioning commercial kitchen with private bar
facilities.
Old Faithful
Perth, WA
Old Faithfull is our second small bar and
restaurant venue undertaken for the same
operators as Ezra Pound.
Old faithful was successfully integrated into an
existing Heritage listed building once housing
a former office located in the prestigious King
street precinct but one that was once known for
its rag trade quarters. King Street has become
a haven for several new venues and Old
Faithfull has quickly established itself as a pier
venue riding off the back of the success of Ezra
Pound. The project involved the conversion and
change of use of the existing building into a new
small bar ablution facilities.
Ezra Pound
Northbridge, WA
Ezra Pound has become an icon small bar in
the Northbridge and Perth entertainment district
and was the first small bar license to be issued
in Northbridge since the government’s initiative
to change and restructure the liquor licensing
laws.
The project involved the conversion and
change of use of the existing building into a
new small bar ablution facilities. Out role was
to obtain development approval and change of
use approval and upon completion to obtain a
building permit and liaise with the builder and
the interior designers to coordinate the entire
project until project completion.

BARKER ROAD APARTMENTS
SUBIACO
