Anthony Barrese

Winner of the 2007 Georg Solti Foundation U.S. Award, Anthony Barrese holds the positions of artistic director and principal conductor at Opera Southwest in Albuquerque, New Mexico. With a prodigious national and international career as a guest conductor and assistant conductor, Mr. Barrese draws on 15 years of experience in his work with world-class performers at Opera Southwest. During his tenure with the company, Anthony Barrese has conducted works by Johann Strauss and Giacomo Puccini, as well as lesser-known composers such as Franco Faccio.
