The European launch of the Alliance 4 Youth tool-kit.

2. What is the Alliance 4 Youth?
• The Alliance for Youth is a business-driven initiative set up to tackle youth unemployment in Europe.
• So far, close to 200 companies from across Europe have joined the “Alliance for YOUth”, and Nielsen
is very proud to be one of the companies.
• A toolkit has been created (with translations of various languages) with the aim to be distributed
across educational bodies across Europe to help better prepare young people when searching and
applying for jobs.
• The parts include: A)How to look for a job, B) Digital Footprint, C)How to improve your CV and Cover
letter and D)The Assessment Centre and interview process

3. The UK Launch
The location of choice was Surrey University in the United Kingdom.
Key representatives from the partner companies were invited to talk and discuss their views on
Youth Unemployment within Europe and the initiative itself.

4. Networking
The event was a great chance for students and the partner companies to network and share views, with the help
of Blendology technology.

5. Interaction
During the day, there was interactive presentations and activities where the students and companies
could actively get involved.

6. Outcomes of the launch
• All partners could come together and share the materials
collectively, aswell as providing advice to students on
employability
• Everyone could share how far the project has come and the
finalisation of materials was finally visible
• Students and Companies were better connected and could
collaborate with ideas

7. Next Steps?Distribution of materials across Europe following the official launch & hopefully the beginning
of a journey to having a positive impact on youth employment.
