Objective : By the end of the lesson, students will be able to :
- participate verbally in lesson by giving
ideas/examples/opinion on the matters discussed
- Filling the missing information on description of appearance
based on the picture/figures on the hand-outs
- discuss and communicate verbally in pairs to describe
his/her partner in a fun environment
- selected pairs will have to present the description to the
whole class
- participate in a fun guessing game. “Who’s who?”. Each
person will have to describe one appearance of his/her
friend (the name of the person will be given by the teacher
solely to him/her) and the teacher will ask them to pass in
circle. His/her next friend need to guess who and add one line
of description. This will go on until 5-6 round and the last
person need to guess ‘who’ was described. The only true
statement was the first line. A reward will be awarded for the
correct guess or a ‘fine’ will be given for the wrong guess.

-Tr plays an overall view of the specific attributes for
any individuals on LCD presentation.
- Tr plays a series of pictures of people’s attributes to
introduce the Ss to the theme of this topic
- At the same time, Ss need to refer to the
overall description of people as in hand-outs
- Probing time, Tr asks about :
√ Have you ever met a man with green eyes before?
√ How to describe this man/woman/baby positively?
√ How do you describe about this face’s shape?
√ Observe, then compare and contrast between the
pictures
√ Stress on politeness –other statement should be used
to describe the appearance of people with new
vocabulary. (e.g. ‘fat’ – rude ; use ‘a bit overweight’)
- Tr states the importance of these new vocabularies in
everyday’s life and the lesson afterwards.

parts of the body on the whiteboard

√ Ss need to respond quick to describe the appearance
as the Tr flashes the picture/figure of people (hint : Ss
refer to the hand-out) by referring to h-out A.
√ Tr will prompt the questions as in induction section

- Based on the observation , Ss need to listen, observe,
examine, think, and then fill in the missing blank for 2
people (from the slide Pres B)

- Tr stresses on not to use the cliche’ or any overused
or common words such as to avoid using thin, fat,
etcetra.
- Tr emphasize the Ss to use new vocabulary as they
learn today to familiarize with the words
- Tr assigns partner for each S. He/She needs to
observe the partner’s face/ any .
- Ss fill in the missing blank
- Based on H-out C, each stud must rewrite into the
box . (either f-i-blank or add own words)
- Finally, the selected Ss needs to present with his/her
partner and describes his/her appearance to the whole
class.

- Before game, Tr flashes on the previous slides
- Tr listen to the vocabularies used and improvise
- Game start, Class is arranged possibly in circle
- Tr will give confidentially to each Ss a name of
his/her friend that he/she needs to describe
- Tr will tell the rules of the game:
Ss is not allowed to tell the name though gender is
allowed
Only physical appearance and personality
Ss should not use any humiliation such as ‘fat’ etc.
Better to avoid the common words
Ss is not allowed to tell who is he/she describing
- Each Ss needs to have a piece of paper
- Tr will give them some time to think of the first
statement of vivid description of his/her friend
- Now, the Ss need to write only one line
- Next, Tr will ask to rotate the paper counterclockwise
within the circle and pass to the next friend.
- The next friend needs to look around and observe his
classmates and guess who as portrayed by his/her
friend and add one more description line
- This process will occur up to 5 to 6 rounds. The last
person who receives the paper will need to guess who
is the person. Only the first description line was
accurate.
