Learning outcomes:
All – will have completed a few design drawings, using the materials provided for public
art pieces and thought about the key words; layering of materials (Over/Under) , pattern
and use of texture
Most – Will have added layering (Over/Under) textures and patterns and used the
materials to do so in their designs.
Some – will have reviewed, annotated and developed their drawings. Think about a title
for your pieces.
Key Words
Pattern: A recurring shape/pattern, it can be seen in decoration
or a motif
Texture: The feel of a the textures on a canvas, such as paint and
colouring pencils

Individual: Looking at own work and identifying what has been successful and progress needs to be made.
Group: Discussion of work completed during the lesson, what is successful, what has been learned? Have you
created innovative designs? What has been successful and why and what can be improved?

EAL: To have different ways of explaining instructions, as well as incorporating visual aids for
example, showing a visual examples of how to include layering of materials (over/under),
