Raised in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Came to the U.S. to study at Cornell University and M.I.T. Worked in Germany, France, Japan. Theoretical and computational chemistry: ab initio studies of the reactivity of transition metal oxide surfaces in the presence of a solvent, Brownian dynamics simulations of order-disorder transitions in sheared colloidal suspensions, conformational interconversion in protein crystals. Energy consultant practice areas: renewable energy (wind, solar, fuel cells), fuel and power price forecasting, technical and safety advice on proposed LNG projects, evaluation of power supply proposals.
