I research use of modeling and analysis in engineering of complex software systems. I have experience with structural modeling, variability modeling, discrete dynamics modeling, real-time dynamics modeling, probabilistic dynamics modeling in scenarios following stepwise refinement methods and component-based development methods. In my work foundational research interacts with pragmatics and innovation. I draw on mathematical theories (semantics, logics, and probability), engineering (building and improving tools) and empirical science (observing real systems). I am very fond of intensive collaboration with industrial partners on concrete engineering problems, but I also spend time on abst...
