TDGC & TSGC Contact Variac Voltage Regulator Usage Tips
Contact variac voltage regulator can stably produce adjustable voltage under loading
condition as power source for light control, electrical heating control, rotary speed
control, ect.
Variac voltage regulator is categorized as single phase type and three phase type. A
single phase variac voltage regulator is designed to adjust the input 220v into 0~250v.
The input terminal poles “A” and “X” are connected to city power 220v, and the
terminal poles “a” and “x” are output to connect to loading. The outlook and connection
illustration as shown below. A three phase variac voltage regulator consists of 3 single
phase variac voltage regulators, and the voltage range is 0~380v. The three terminal
poles “A”, “B”, “C” are input to connect to 380v, and terminal poles “a”, “b”, “c” are
output to connect to loading. Besides, the terminal pole “0” is to connect to earth.

Below are the tips for usage of variac voltage regulator.
1. Before using the newly installed variac voltage regulator or long time stored variac
regulator, it is demanded to measure the insulation resistance of coil against earth by
ohmmeter. It can be used when the resistance is more than 0.5MΩ, otherwise it must be
dried. After drying, please check if any parts are loose(to fasten if any), and measure
the insulation resistance by ohmmeter again to meet the requirement for using.
2. Power and voltage should conform with the rated input voltage value on the rating
label.
3. The variac regulator shell must connect to earth well to guarantee safety.
