OBJECTIVE:
Seeking a position as a Business Intelligence/Data Analyst with the long-term goal of
becoming a Project Manager.
EDUCATION:
Washington State University, MBA (focus in Data Analytics) Pullman, WA
Specialized courses: SQL Server, SSIS, R Studio, Tableau, VBA and Excel design.
Washington State University, Bachelor of Arts, Emphasis in Operations Management Pullman, WA
Specialized courses: VBA and Excel design.
GRADUATE PROJECTS:
Washington State Department of Transportation – I-405 Traffic Analysis Pullman/Seattle, WA
Performed a detailed analysis under the sponsorship and guidance of Neal Analytics. The project addressed
local commuter complaints regarding perceived decreases in non-toll lane traffic flow along the I-405 Corridor
following completion of the freeway upgrade project in 2015. WSDOT added two camera monitored toll lanes
to 3 preexisting non-toll lanes in an effort to reduce congestion for commuters using non-toll lanes. As part of
this project, retrieved, cleansed, and performed an analysis of approximately 1.3 billion records of historical
traffic data using the Compact Data Retrieval (CDR) tool provided by the WSDOT as well as R Studio, SQL
Server, and SSIS . The analysis was focused or specific zones and mileposts on I-405 e.g. on/off ramps,
congested areas with 2 toll lanes & 3 regular lanes, etc.. Azure Machine Learning was also used as a predictive
modeling tool to derive insight and trends from the data. Results from the analysis included the following:
 There has been a decrease in the average speed and number of vehicles on the I-405 (traffic volume)
since the completion of the I-405 Corridor expansion project; an increase in speed and number of
vehicles on the freeway was expected.
 This was due to two main factors including:
o High toll lane premiums discouraged drivers from using toll lanes.
o Drivers merging from toll lanes into non-toll lanes created a ripple effect which slowed
traffic.
 Neal Analytics is currently working with the Seattle Times to publish these findings.
Key Lock Solutions – Agricultural Appraisal Program Moscow, ID
Developed a VBA program that exported agricultural appraisal data from an Excel-based form into a PDF
document for commercial use.
 Program reduced input and labor costs for the customer by streamlining data entry time and
conversion into a .PDF format.
 Key Lock Solutions is currently selling the program to other users in the Agricultural Appraisal
industry.
Black-Scholes Options Model Pullman, WA
Developed an options pricing tool in Excel that used the Black-Scholes Model to help forecast and compare the
price of both a put and call option for 2 stocks at different strike prices. A variety of developer tools in Excel
such as VBA and Userforms were used to create a simple data entry form for end-users. End-users can also
input a stock ticker to get a real-time stock price quote.
