                                      All owners of ships over a certain size or otherwise designated by the USCG, Captain of the Port, and all operators of port facilities
                                      as designated, are required to perform exercises and drills of the security plans that the law requires them to have in place. The
                                      Trojan Horse Exercise is a public-private collaborative forum in which all participants can meet their legal obligations to exercise
                                      their security plans, identify best practices in security training, and exploit opportunities for developing innovative security

                                      Maritime security is an integral part of the International Maritime Organization and its responsibilities for port security. This
                                      workshop will examine the comprehensive security regime for international shipping entered into force in 2004. The mandatory
                                      security measures include a number of amendments to the 1974 Safety of Life at Sea Convention, the most far-reaching of which
                                      enshrines the new International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code), which contains detailed security-related
                                      requirements for governments, port authorities, and shipping companies in the world. This workshop will also tackle guidelines
                                      about how to meet requirements in non-mandatory sections.

This workshop will examine the comprehensive security regime for international shipping entered into force in 2004. The mandatory security measures include a number of amendments to the 1974 Safety of Life at Sea Convention, the most far-reaching of which enshrines the new International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code), which contains detailed security-related requirements for governments, port authorities, and shipping companies in the world. This workshop will also tackle guidelines about how to meet requirements in non-mandatory sections.
