3. Phrasal Verbs.
A Phrasal verb is a verb followed by one or more
particles which can be a preposition, an adverb,
or a combination of both. A Phrasal verb is a unit
with a special meaning, other than the words that
taken form it separately: My washing - machine
broke down yesterday (stopped working) / after
winning the lottery, they looked down on us (we
despised).

Go out!
salir (románticamente) o salir de

Look after! cuidar
She can’t go out because she’s
looking after her little sister.

7. Go out!
Meaning: salir (románticamente) o salir de fiesta.
Example: She’s going out with a boy named Pedro.
(Ella está saliendo con un chico que se llama Pedro.)
12. Look for!
Meaning: buscar
Example: Can you help me look for my keys? I can’t find
them!.
(¿Puedes ayudarme a buscar mis llaves? ¡No las
encuentro!.)
13. Look after!
Meaning: cuidar
Example: She can’t go out because she’s looking after her
little sister.
(No puede salir porque tiene que cuidar a su
hermanita.)
14. Work out!
Meaning: calcular, solucionar y hacer
ejercicio.
Example:
*I worked out how much I can spend on holiday. (Calculé cuánto puedo
gastar en las vacaciones.)
*I hope you work out the problem with your boss. (Espero que
soluciones el problema con tu jefe.)
*He goes to the gym to work out 3 times a week. (Va al gimnasio a hacer
ejercicio tres veces por semana.)
