Introduction into a new unique concept called 'Interior Design Coaching', that I have developed to help my clients to reveal their own interior style. The concept is a blend of my experience and passion for facilitation/coaching and interior design and addresses my need to work with my design clients in a completely different, more cooperative, way. It was first presented at HUB Prague on Oct 23, 2012.

Beauty is individual
...each of us has it his or her own journey
EXERCISE: Journey Mapping
1. Think of a time when you were creating an interior or house
• with a professional (architect or designer)
• by yourself
2. Draw a journey of the whole design process and define major touchpoints on it.
3. For each touchpoint, think about its high vs. low points. Use stickies.
4. Each group to come up with 3 major low points and 3 major high points of your
journey.

22. DESIGN PSYCHOLOGY BASICS
The practice of planning, architecture, interior design in which
psychology is the principle design tool.
• Design Psychology evolved from Environmental psychology, now a respected field of
applied psychology dealing with our symbiotic relationship with the environment.
• Human-environment behaviors deriving from a combination of different aspects:
• Sociocultural: based on learning and behavioral perspectives. Actions might derive
from a unique cultural, religious, social and/or personal experiences.
• Neurobiological: our actions, behaviors, and preferences result from genetics and
our biological composition.
• Humanistic: based on the notions of free will and the desire for self-actualization.
Our primary motivation in life is to fulfill our potential.

28. ENVIRONMENTAL FAMILY TREE
• Fill in the blank Environmental Family Tree by using nouns or adjectives to describe the large-
scale places or homes of your ancestors.
• These don’t need to be places you have experienced. They can just be places you’ve heard
about. The homes and places you describe can be environments of your grand parents, aunts
and uncles, cousins or even friends who had a major impact on you/your family. There's no
right or wrong: you can write inside or outside the boxes. Simply do this exercise at a level that
feels comfortable to you.
Reflection
1. In what way(s), if any, did your family's environmental experiences differ or stayed the same from
generation to generation?
2. In what way(s), if any, do you think your environmental genealogy influenced your own
environmental perspective and values?
3. In what way(s), if any do you think that influence was positive or negative?
4. Do you have any further reflections on how your environmental family tree may have influenced
you ?

go next with designing your interior?
