David Zavattero, former Deputy Commissioner for Traffic Safety at the Chicago Department of Transportation, is writing a letter of recommendation for Andre Murphy, who worked as Zavattero's Administrative Assistant for eight years until retiring in 2014. To whom it may concern:
I am writing on behalf of Andre Murphy. I recently retired as Deputy Commissioner for
Traffic Safety at the Chicago Department of Transportation. Prior to that I was Deputy
Director at the Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications. I held
these positions for eight years. During those eight years I was Andre’s direct
supervisor. Andre held the positron as my Administrative Assistant until his retirement
in 2014.
I found Andre to be an enthusiastic and competent member of my staff. Andre was
responsible for organizing meetings, maintaining correspondence and technical files,
responding to telephone inquiries, and keeping schedules amongst other administrative
duties. Andre went further to assist the engineering staff in the Division with other
clerical and technical support including maintaining and updating files, preparing
spreadsheets, data entry and analysis, and managing correspondence.
I was very appreciative of the enthusiasm and effort Andre devoted to his work and
