4.600.000 personas con sífilis en las Américas.
La mayoría de los
estudios (75%), reflejan un predominio de casos
en el sexo masculino.
La prevalencia general estimada en la región de las
Américas fue de 0.91% para los hombres y 0.92%

La seroprevalencia del Treponema pallidum en postulantes a donantes de sangre
que acuden al Hospital III Iquitos EsSalud de Enero a Diciembre del 2021 fue de
3.38%; según el sexo el masculino 46 (59.74%) y las de femeninos 31 (40.26%);
según la edad el rango más frecuente fue de 36 a 45 años con 32 (41.56%), según
procedencia fue urbana con 41 (53.25%).
La OMS estimó que anualmente se
diagnostican alrededor de 6 millones de
casos nuevos de sífilis; en Perú, se estima una
prevalencia de 0,5% y 0,4% en hombres y
mujeres respectivamente.

Sífilis congénita: Desde el año 2000 al 2009, el
promedio anual de casos de sífilis congénita en

notificado en total 7244 casos de sífilis
materna entre confirmados y probables.
Existieron factores asociados a lúes
