3. Bran, first attested in 1367, is
typical Romanian mountain village and consists
of five villages: Poarta, Predeluţ, Sohodol,
Şimon, the center of the village with the same
name.
Situated about 29 km from Brasov, on the road
that goes through the old neighborhood
Bartholomew and tying Braşov with
Campulung Muscel, Bran is one of the areas most
sought tourist area. And this is due to
the landscape beauty and hospitality of the
people.
Bran village represents both a historical place and
a legend. It is the gateway between Transylvania
and Wallachia with one side lined by the Piatra
Craiului Mountains and the other by the Bucegi
Mountains. Bran hosts one of the most visited
castles in Europe, the Dracula Castle, the source
which inspired the most fascinating legend of the
blood- shedding Count Dracula.
4. Fauna is represented by specific animal to Central
Europe, who meet with the Eastern steppe. Here live bears, wolves,
boar, deer, chamois, capercaillie etc..
The region has a temperate climate with cool summers and cold winters. The average
annual temperature is 5 ° C. In July, which is the hottest of the year, the temperature
reaches 25-27 ° C and in January the temperature ranges between -10 and -
15° C. Bran is rich in precipitation.
5. Bran

called Moara Dacilor (The Mill of the Dacians). Here, you will be

Fața Frumoasă (the Beautiful Face) is the name of a large coast of
fascinating beauty, situated at a 2380 meters altitude in the Bucegi
Mountains.
7. Omu mountain peak, the highest peak in the Bucegi Massif will
welcome any hiker with an extraordinary energy and dreamlike
scenery. If you manage to reach the peak and the weather is so kind to
offer a sunny day, your eyes could even catch a glimpse of the Danube
or the Black Sea.
A short but difficult way leads you there, but still the beauty of the
landscape makes all the effort worth.
Zănoaga skiing slope is situated 4 kilometers away from the
centre of Bran and it has a medium level of difficulty, with a
level difference of 170 meters and a length of 650 meters. It
is endowed with ski lifts and nocturnal lights.
8. The Bran Castle has survived across centuries as a historical and cultural centre and medieval citadel,
bearing an important role in defense. It was the residence of queens and kings and home to legends of
great men and vampires. The castle is the emblem of the region and a representative location in terms
of historical background and current touristic activity. It is an obvious sight once you enter Bran, as it
watches kingly over the town and its inhabitants.
9. Bran National Museum comprises two museum departments:
Customs Museum and Bran Village Museum.
The Village Museum was conceived as an open-air museum and it
presents to visitors the main types of farms, houses, outbuildings,
economical buildings and facilities for the traditional manufacturing
wood and wool.
