2. 1. Use positive reinforcement techniques
Positive reinforcement training essentially focuses on rewarding your pet for good
behavior, rather than punishing bad behavior.
Whenever your dog demonstrates good behavior and responds positively to your
commands, reward them! So basically treats :)
3. 2. Find the right reward.
Some dogs are food-motivated, and will respond very enthusiastically to any sort
of edible treat as a reward. Others are pickier: often, soft, chewy treats are
preferred to hard, crunchy ones.
And if your dog isn’t food orientated suggest a playtime :)
4. 3. Consistency is key.
You probably already knew, but essentially consistency is
key so the more practice you obviously get in in a day or
the more frequently you do it, the better, the results
5. 4.Build up in stages.
all this means is that for a more difficult training command to take your time with it. so a
more difficult command, such as stay for example, you would just break it down into
more simple stages for the dog, and slowly work up with reinforcement to the desired
command.
6. 5. Make it
fun.
Obviously, make sure it’s fun for the both of you guys. If it’s not working out, you’re with
your best friend, make sure it’s fun for the both of you guys. If it’s not working out,
switch it up and both of you guys should have the most fun while training. Enjoy the
process.
