Concept Note
Period (.) – signals the full stop or the end of a complete sentence that is statement.
Rules:
 Statement – use a period to mark the end of a statement.
My father’s name is Rafael Borromeo.
 Abbreviation – if a sentence ends with an abbreviation that uses a (.), no need to add (.)
Our medical director is Maria Mendoza, M.D.
 Indirect questions – the question mark is replaced by a period in indirect questions.

 Title – punctuation mark of a title is retained if it is found at the end of the sentence.
