2. OUR STORY
THE BEGINNINGS AND OUR NARRATIVE
Objectives: We wanted to connect all the Bay Area YouTubers together in one platform (digital forum) to create a
community where they can post/collab/advertise/network their content.
We want to provide this forum for emerging and up-and-coming Bay Area YouTubers and break the stereotype that
LA has the coolest stars, tech, and is the pinnacle of cinema and video production success, as well as make the
Bay Area more than just an image of the tech industry.
Youtube launched in 2005. Southern California, more specifically Los Angeles, has been the focal point of cinema
gold over the last 100+ years. In line with that reputation, it’s no surprise that this industry has fed off of and gained
even bigger fame through Youtube in the last 12 years. Heck, even modern movie stars got their start off of
Youtube!
We want to create a community that breaks that stereotype. As a Bay Area kid, born and raised, I want to bring that
heightened reputation home. Through different social media platforms and other digital media, we want emerging
and upcoming Bay Area YouTubers to be able to post their content and network with others in the same location
and boat. Bay Area pride has never seen an opportunity like this before. #BayTube

We’ve had several YouTubers
from our local San Jose area as
well as one from San Francisco
featured on our page.
Analysis concluded that these
posts and features increased
page reach by at least 300%
using the right hashtags and
targeting the right audience. We
plan to continue doing this for
the future!

14. WHAT DIDN’T WORK
Lack of engagement lowered
our rate of garnering followers.
Even after just a couple days
of not posting, retweeting, or
commenting on posts, we’ve
lost some of the engagement
compared to when we were
effectively using our social
media.
