A. Subject : Production of High Quality Light Weight Concrete

E. Missions:
1. Investigate the effects of different editions of pumice and polystyrene to improve
the properties of concrete to achieve certain mixture design.
2. To achieve the goals of research use samples were prepared and sub classified by
weight with ( 5 , 10 , 15 , 20 , 25 , 30 , 40% ) pumice and by volume with ( 10 , 20 ,
30 , 40 % ) polystyrene .
3. The results show that the optimum addition for pumice was 30% to give 33.6MPa
and up to 8% less by weight. For polystyrene addition the 10% give 15.5MPa was
the optimum by strength and 40% to give 13.3MPa was the optimum by weight.
