1. Research on my Target Audience
Horror Films

2. Slide one.
Here I am going to be talking about the target audience of the film type I will
be doing, when producing a film it is important you know what your target
audience is so that you know who will watch and enjoy your film, however if
you chose not to research in to your target audience then it will be less
popular with people as it won’t appeal to any large group of a specific
audience.
3. Slide 2.
When doing age certification research, I found that most aged 15 horror films
included children as either a protagonist or a main character, I found that
when aged 18 they included very gory detailed scenes, also if very bad languge
such as quite of a lot swearing is included. When doing research I found that
most people watch horror films for the element of entertainment and the
excitement, also the thrill factor of them! Most horror films on the market
and which are shown in the cinema have the age certificate of a 15 . I also
found that the largest group of people whom visit the cinema are those aged
from 15 to 24.
4. Slide 3
The audience of the film I am going to be targeting my production at will be
teenagers above the age of 15, however my film has quite a controversial
theme which will make it appealing to adults too! A Horror film usually relates
to both male and female, however this can depend on the story line
throughout as with men they are more likely to be able to interact with the
characters on screen, women can also interact too but reactions are usually
different. A secondary audience of Horror films is usually dating couples, as it
brings them close together with the jumpy scenes and thrills.
