3. About Editorial Calendars
Editorial calendars have been in
publishing for centuries now, and
are a must for every business owner
who is serious about running a blog.
Stay tuned to learn how to create
your own blogging editorial calendar
from scratch.

4. The Perks To The
Calendar
● Tracking system for blog ideas.
● Blog schedule is ready to go.
● Transparent blog schedule.
● More time to focus on
customers.
4
5. 1. Before Getting
Started...
Identify your target audience.
Who will you be blogging for?
Use this free tool from HubSpot
to create a customer persona.
6. Content
Marketing
The creation and sharing of varying
content (blogs, articles, videos, etc.) for
the purpose of stimulating interest in
products or services by the targeted
6
7. Daily, Weekly, Monthly?
What is the best way for
you to create content
and blog? Will it be daily
or once a week? Figure
out what schedule will
work for you and be
consistent by sticking to
it for the long-term.
2. Determine The
Schedule You’ll Stick To
Google
Search engines don’t
care how often you post,
it is irrelevant to them.
Your readers however,
will get used to seeing
your weekly post and if
you slack off, you could
lose more than one
potential customer. 7
8. 3. Restructure Your
Blog Categories
Target Audience
What are they
interested in? Of those
interests, which are
relatable to your
business and
industry? Make a list
of these interests.
The Old Ones
If your blog is already
set up, then you’ll need
to redo the categories. I
recommend just
starting over by having
your first blog title
brainstorming session.
Broad Categories
Come up with
categories relevant to
your customer
persona, business,
and industry that are
broad enough to
cover a wide array of
topics.. 8
9. 4. Brainstorm Ideas
● List at least 10 ideas for each
category you have.
● Write down everything that
comes to mind.
● Don’t edit yourself.
● Ideas should give value, not
promote your product/service.
9
10. Value
When you give people
information they can use, they
will return for more. Bring
your audience back time and
time again by providing
valuable content that solves
pain points for the reader.
10
11. 5. Visually Convey
Your Message
Images, Videos, GIF’s
These are just a few
of the available media
types you can use
with your blog and
social media posts /
campaigns. Use a
variety of types.
Copyright Laws
You can’t use any
picture you want to. Do
not copy other people’s
photos or images. Only
use with their explicit
permission or get from
a creative commons or
free website.

12. A picture is
worth a
thousand
words.
A complex idea can be
conveyed with just a single
still image, making it possible
to quickly absorb large
amounts of data.

life less difficult for our
