I gave my questionnaire to 50% males and 50%
females. The most popular music to listen to was
Indie, the data says that 90% of people listen to it. Not
far behind this was Rock, with 80% of people listening
to it.

The most popular magazine to read was NME with 70%
of people saying they read it. Q and Kerrang! were read
by 60% of the people who I asked. This reflects
people’s music tastes.

‘Lead’ was the most popular masthead with 70% of the
people who I asked saying it was their favourite. No one
voted for ‘Volume’, also ‘Riff’ and Forte didn’t have many
people vote for it.

I wanted to know whether I should have a slogan in my
music magazine so I came up with some ideas. The
data came back as 70% of the people liked ‘Love
Live, Love Lead’ which would match the most popular
masthead ‘Lead’.

By looking at this data, most people would be willing to pay
£1.60-£2.00 for a weekly music magazine. Nobody ticked
the box for £3.00+.

70% of people said that having a Female Artist on the front cover
of a magazine would encourage them to buy it. Whereas no-one
voted for a female group, it was the least popular. 10% of people
said that a male artist as the image would encourage them to buy
the magzine.

Interviews were very popular, with 80% of people
ticking it. The Editors letter, film reviews and
information on gigs and festivals had 70% of people
vote for them. These were the most popular sections
people would like to see.
