6. 2.Mintika Pass
The Mintaka Pass – at over
4,700 metres above sea
level, this famed high
mountain pass in the
Karakorams just west of
Khunjerab was used by
travellers on the ancient
Silk Route. In this picture,
the pillar marks the
border between China and
Pakistan.

7. 3.Kilik Pass
• The Kilik Pass (elevation 4,827 m
or 15,837 ft; Chinese: 基里克达
坂[1]), 30 kilometres (20 mi) to
the west of Mintaka Pass is a high
mountain pass in the Karakorum
Mountains between Gilgit-
Baltistan in Pakistan and Xinjiang

8. 4.The Dadarili Pass
5,030 metres – this high
mountain pass connects
Upper Swat with the Ghizer
Valley in Gilgit-Baltistan.
With Swat cleared of
militants, the pass can be
used for a – somewhat
strenuous – trek into Gilgit-
Baltistan. The picture here is

9. 5.Shandur Pass
At an elevation of 3700 meters
(12,200 feet) it is located in
District Ghizer of GB. Shandur
Pass is one of the four major
mountain passes of GB.
Shandur Top is often called
'Roof of the World' where the
Hindu Kush, Pamir Mountains
and Karakorum Range meet. It
is a flat plateau which can be
only crossed between late
April and early November. It is
more known for its famous
"Shandur Festival", trout
streams and its gradual grade.

10. 6.Hispar Pass
Hispar Pass (or Hispar La) (el. 5,128
m/16,824 ft) is a high-altitude, non-
technical mountain pass in the
Karakoram Range in Pakistan.[1]
At the pass, the Biafo Glacier (63 km
long) and Hispar Glacier (49 km long)
meet to form the world's longest
glacial traverse outside of the polar
regions, 100 kilometers in length.

11. 7.Hayal Pass

Chillinji pass (el. 17,503 ft., also
marked as 17,360 ft.) is a high
mountain pass that connects
Karambar river valley (upper Gilgit
valley) in Ishkoman tehsil of Ghizer
district with Chapursan river valley
(upper Hunza valley) in Gojal tehsil of
Gilgit district in the Northern Areas
in Pakistan. It is also spelled as

13. 9.Shimshal Pass
• Shimshal pass, Gilgit
Baltistan
• The village located in
Gojal in the Gilgit–
Baltistan. It lies at an
altitude of 3,100 m above
sea level, and is the
highest settlement in
Hunza Valley of Pakistan.
It is the bordering village
that connects Gilgit-
Baltistan with China.

14. 10.Gondogoro La (Pass) –
• at an astonishing 5,940
metres, this is one of the
highest passes in the world
connecting the Concordia
region with Hushe Valley in
Gilgit-Baltistan. From its top
one can see K2 and 3 other
mountains that are above
8,000 metres. The picture

15. 11.Babusar Pass
At an elevation of 4173 meters
(13,69 1feet), the Babusar Pass
although not located in
GilgitBaltistan, has a great
significance for the Northern
Areas. It is a major alternative
route available for move into GB
and joins the Kaghan Valley in
District Mansehra to Chilas on the
Karakoram Highway (KKH). The
pass remains snow clogged
between October to late May and
movement through the pass is
also restricted during

.Chaprot Pass is a mountain pass to
the northeast of Mehrbani Peak
5,639 metres (18,501 ft) in the
northwest of Chaprot.
Chaprote is one of the earliest
villages in Hunza Nager District Of
Gilgit.It is famous for its beauty and
brave people. The literacy rate is
more than 80%.

24. 19.Bichar Pass
Bichhar pass (el. 4,532 m (14,869 ft))
is a high mountain pass at the
boundary of the Ghizer and Gilgit
districts in Gilgit–Baltistan of
Pakistan. To the north of the pass is
Bichhari village in the Naltar valley in
Gilgit district. To the south of the
pass is the village Sherqila on the
Gilgit river in the Ghizer district.

25. 20.Burzil pass
The Burzil Pass (el. 4,100 m (13,500
ft))[2] is an ancient pass and caravan
route between Srinagar in Kashmir and
Gilgit. This route was active up to
Pakistan's independence. The pass lies
close to the Line of Control demarcating
India and Pakistan, which has since
closed the Burzil. The crest of the pass is
wide and covered in summer with alpine
grass vegetation.[citation needed] The
Astor river originates from western

is famous especially for its
beautiful panoramic view of so
many mountain peaks,
including that of K2, Nanga
Parbat, Masherbrum,
Chogolisa, Laila Peak, Golden
Peak, Gasherbrum I,
Gasherbrum II, Gasherbrum IV
and a part of Broad Peak
