1. Family Entertainment this May at South Hill Park
South Hill Park Arts Centre is so full to the brim this May with family entertainment, you’ll struggle
not to find something you’ll want to take your brood along to. From picnics in the park with
Beatrix Potter to a world premiere of a mesmerising new musical - Don’t Dribble on the Dragon,
that incorporates magic designed by the late great, Paul Daniels.
The month’s events kick off on May Day – Sunday 1 May, with HookHitch Theatre’s delightful
outdoor performance of My Friend Peter – The Beatrix Potter Musical. Taking place in South Hill
Park’s amphitheatre, this magical folk musical is for all those who seek big adventures in little
places. Why not make the most of your time in the park’s beautiful grounds and pre-order a
picnic with your ticket, to guarantee a full day of fun without the fuss?!
Another children’s classic is brought to life on the Wilde Theatre stage by London Contemporary
Theatre from Wednesday 18 to Saturday 21 May, with Clive King’s much loved Stig of the Dump.
It is nearly 50 years since Stig and Barney’s adventures first saw the light of day, but this
timeless children’s story remains as charming and entertaining as ever.
