A powerpoint I put together for the Miami Business Consulting (MBC) Challenge presenting a new internal organization using an IT interface for a mock home generator product. Received praises from the General Electric judges for presentation quality and won 3rd place overall.
Home Fuel Cells are clearly profitable. However, you can see that we’re also saving nearly 4 million dollars by switching to an IT Interface system. This estimate was using current levels of late fees. However, more like that rate would rise as the system clogs, and more clerks would have to hired. Therefore, our actual saving would likely be much higher. This is more clearly shown when looking at our total expenses.
The lighter area is all the new IT costs. The gold are fax/phone costs, and late fees, our two target areas of reduction. You can see that the increase in IT costs is negligible compared to the reduction in faxing and late fees.
