â Tightness in my neck, clenched jaw
â Tight chest and worry
â Clench in stomach
â the calendar on the fridge made me feel a little anxious.. made
me think about how much we might pack into a day without doing
what we need to for ourselves.
â You don't have to be perfect for anyone. Not even yourself
â I loved the phrase, Take care of your mental health like you do
your children
â How simple tasks can become overwhelming quickly.
â I thought it was cool how the daughter was the one to reach out
to her mom. it seems like the younger generation is taking more
notice for mental health
â It seemed like they forgot to breathe at one point and I deïŹnitely
do that when I get anxious

â Yoga
â Taking a cold shower to reset
â It's almost bath season again! Soaking in the bath.
â Weekly hangouts with my BFF
â not going on social media ïŹrst thing in the morning
â exercising on the elliptical early in the morning
â strength training/walking, yoga, being outdoors
â using sick time for mental health days
â taking intentional breaths, stop for brief moments and notice
where I am holding tension in my body, stop and look around my
environment

â Chest
â the last part where she is journaling and she wrote burn out
â I like how she said you don't know what you will feel like the next day.
Basically taking it one day at a time.
â The bike get away from being sad
â I loved the idea of relighting the candle
â the confusion (from self or others) about once being a "happy" person and
trying to square that with a current state of feeling so far from happy
â i liked how she talked about holding onto the glimpses of hope and
beautiful things, which is important when you're going through something
so dark as depression
â Feeling alone with a group of people. And also faking a smile.
â Holding on to what's in front of you! Hope
â Stating there were signs, people just didn't see them.
â Allowing room to change from day-to-day
â A recognition of personal change from a more innocent childhood where
she felt joy to depression to redeïŹning what brings meaning into her life
now as an adult

How can we support

â Ask others how they're doing, even if you think they're okay
â Normalize seeking resources! I try to be as open as possible
about the fact that I go to therapy
â Checking up on your friends
â By having honest conversations to break down stigma about
mental health, to normalize the experience
â Staying connected to others
â Step out of your box, and get in the circle of people
â going back to how this all sessions started. we need to prioritize
our self care so we can show up for self and others. the greater
self compassion we have we can give it to others.
