The document discusses what the author learned from producing a video as part of a media studies class. They learned how to communicate in a team, overcome problems, use camera equipment, and properly frame shots. The video was successful in using different shot types and good teamwork. Areas for improvement include improving shot quality by adjusting lighting and exposure, using more editing effects, and improving audio quality with an external microphone. Overall, the brief of having dialogue, different shots, and length over a minute was met.

2. WHAT I HAVE LEARNTâŚ
â˘
While producing our video there are many things that I have learnt, these include:
ďś How to communicate in a team to come up with a good product
ďś How to overcome unexpected problems which we faced
ďś How to use the new camera and its effects
ďś How to upload videos and images to the computer and share them with other students.
ďś I have also learnt how to frame a shot properly to have the best effect for the viewer at
home.
3. AREAS OF SUCCESSâŚ
â˘
We have reached success in a few areas as we have used different types of show in our
final product; we have also worked well as a team and have all contributed to the project
to come up with something viewable.
â˘
I think that our editing is good as the video flows and there are no âstop/startâ areas.
â˘
We used different lighting in some of our shots to add tension to the scene.
4. AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT
â˘
I think there are a few areas in which we can improve.
â˘
One of these is with the actual filming, some of the shots were not set up to a high
enough standard and some of the shots were either overexposed or underexposed. To
improve this we will take added care when setting up shots and recording them.
â˘
The quality on some of the shots was lower than we wanted- to improve this we can
improve the quality of the video on the camera.
â˘
The editing was overall good but I think that we could improve this by using more effects
or coloured effects.
â˘
We need to improve on the audio quality in the film, this was lower because we used a
normal Fuji camera without a microphone, to improve this we will use an external
microphone plugged into the camera.
â˘
In one of our shots there was also our tripod which we were not using at the time as we
were filming with the camera in our hands.
5. HOW WELL WE MET THE BRIEF
â˘
We had the initial time brief of the video being a minimum of 60 seconds long. We met
this part of the brief because our video lasted for 1:49.
â˘
The initial brief stated that we needed to have a few lines of dialogue, a range of shot
types, footage of someone walking into a room and it needed to be over a minute long. I
feel that we met all of these points.
â˘
We have seen where we can improve (continuity, quality of shots etc.) and we know that if
we make these improvements we will get a better final product.
