2. • I have been assigned questions to answer, and by discussing
my answers with my peers in my Media Studies Class, I will
be able to pinpoint what ideas I should discard, or develop.
• What kind of music will your magazine focus on?
• What will your magazine be called?
• Will you feature a single artist or a band on your Front
Cover?
• What kind of article will be on your double page spread?
• What colour scheme will your magazine have?
• How much will it cost?

3. What kind of music will your
magazine focus on?
• I stated that I was going to create a magazine
that focused on the Alternative / indie genre
of music. Reasons for this was so I could be
diverse with my artist choices.
• My focus group understood where I was
coming from and failed to see any problems
with this.

4. What will your magazine be called?
• I mentioned a couple of names that I thought
could work well (things like IndiExpress, Loop
, FrontLineMusic etc)
• My focus group helped me to decide on Loop
as the title of the magazine, as it is
short, sweet, and has a nice ring to it.

5. Will you feature a single artist or a
band on your Front Cover?
• For the front cover, I had decided that I would
have a band with a diverse set of instruments
usually overlooked as a group. I would do this
by taking my own shoot and creating a ‘fake’
band.
• My focus group thought this would be a good
idea, as a band that provokes interest on the
front cover makes the observer more likely to
read on.

6. What kind of article will be on your
double page spread?
• The double page spread was something that I
was still partially unsure about. I was having
trouble choosing what to write about.
• The focus group told me that I should do it
either on a festival review, or on a singular
artist being interviewed. So I have decided to
do it on a singular artist being interviewed.

7. What colour scheme will your
magazine have?
• Originally, I wanted to use the colour red for
my title, as scientifically, the colour red alerts
the brain the most.
• However, my focus group informed me that a
central theme of red/black would be
something more associated with a metal
magazine or a heavy rock magazine, so I have
decided to experiment with the colour
scheme of the magazine using only some red.

8. How much will it cost?
• Since I have decided thatmy magazine will be
a monthly release, it would have a monthly
subscription cost of £4.
• My focus group informed me that this cost
may be too high, and would deter my target
audience from actually buying the magazine.
This feedback made me change the price from
£4 to £3.
