The Avenue of the Champs Elysees
begins in the Place de la Concorde
and in fact ends in the Glorieta del
Arco del Triunfo, with an
approximate length of 1800
meters. Although it continues
towards the west it changes name
and is known as Av. Charles de
Gaulle. I do not know that part.
The layout and construction of the
avenue is done in 1724, but it was
The Paseo de la Reforma was born of
an idea of Maximilian during his short
period of Emperor of Mexico, but his
true splendor is due to Don Porfirio
Diaz. The Paseo de la Reforma is very
long, but its original line goes from
the well known Glorieta del Nuevo
Caballito to the Chapultepec Forest.
In this section has 6 roundabouts and
a length of approximately 5 km. It is
also much wider and definitely, in my
personal opinion, more beautiful.

While the sculpture at the top of the
Column of Independence in Mexico is
known as the Angel of Independence, in
Paris the statue placed at the top
represents the Angel of Freedom. It is clear
that the similarities are quite clear. But
which is more beautiful? I think the
proportions of the Mexican Column are
much better.
At the top of the Column of
Independence is the symbol of Mexico
City, recognized by everyone as El
Angel. It landed in 1957 following the
earthquake and was rebuilt and
reinforced in such a way that it resisted
the earthquakes of 1985, grade 8 on the
Richter scale.
