ABOUT UNIVERSITY

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Cracow School of Business CUE is a modern educational institution
whose unique programme offer is continuously adapted to the needs and to
the changing market conditions. The history of the MBA Programmes dates
back to 1994, when the Cracow School of Business of the Cracow University
of Economics (former School of Entrepreneurship and Management, Cracow University of Economics) was first
in southern Poland to launch the studies of this type. Being a precursor in this field allowed the School, already
at the very beginning of implementation of this idea, to assume a high position. It allowed to launch in 2006 the
second MBA Programme in CSB CUE - the International MBA Multicultural Integrated Management Program-
me, carried out in association with the St. Gallen Business School in Switzerland.
The School, operating within the framework of the Cracow University of Economics, with long-time
tradition, is aware that the basic value of the studies is professional teaching personnel. It consists of lecturers,
as well as specialists-practitioners, whose theoretical knowledge, as well as business experience allows the stu-
dents to develop managerial skills. The School, thanks to the level of the services provided, ensures for its alumni
competitiveness on the international job market.
Cracow School of Business CUE, in its activity, co-participates in creation of ethical values of the
worlds of science and business through staff training in different areas of economic and social life at the highest
level as well as by preparing them for a modern management style, according to world standards.
According to the mission of CSB CUE, students as addressees of the Programme obtain knowledge enabling
constant raising of qualifications and skills, and hence achievement of personal and professional goals in the
long-term perspective. The students, as an international and interactive community, create the teaching process
and the final form ofthe Programme. Flexible approach to each edition of the studies and to each student prevents
losing, in the Programme management, its primary goal.
The International MBA Programme permanently connects its alumni with the School and the Univer-
sity. There is no way to create a Programme for training managers without strong and extensive relations with
the business. The driving force of the School is intensive didactic and research cooperation with foreign institu-
tions.
One of the principles of Confucianism, presented during the International MBA Congress in 2012 says:
Since we have become better than yesterday, we should start to improve from tomorrow.
Let’s create tomorrow together.
You are cordially invited to Cracow School of Business CUE.

Lecturers’ opinions
„The success of both individuals and companies in global, turbulent and
culturally diverse environments requires competent and engaged people.
The main factors determining high performance on international markets
includestechnicalskills,motivationofmanagersandspecialists,theirsocial
competencies, and in general, a new mindset. The only effective strategy to
face this challenge is constant learning. An important element of the life-
long learning philosophy and educational systems are MBA programs.
An International MBA is an offer for people who want to learn and improve
their competencies with the special focus on international aspects.
Multicultural Human Resource Management is one of the moduls in
Curriculum. Studying International Human Resource Management
students will be encouraged not only to learn and discuss specific issues
like expatriate management, personnel development, performance
management or diversity, but also to go beyond the boundaries created by
national, cultural, and personal features everybody has. „

„Every successful project starts with an investment!
To be successful means to understand what management superiority
means in practice and to understand how the figures can help you to
make better decisions to create value. These considerations are at the
heart of the modules Finance and Controlling. You learn to interpret the
annual reports and analyze the financial situation from different points of
views (managers, bankers, shareholder) and you get the skills to optimize
you decisions (for example in investment calculations). During the whole
programthereferencetothepracticeisveryimportant.Therefore,thewhole
education is using actual case studies. At the end of the MBA-Program the
participants can run their own company in a business simulation. In this
business simulation the participants prove their skills in a hard competition.
For sure a hight return on investment!”

Students having defended the thesis received:

„St. Gallen Business School and Cracow University of Economics are
modern and dynamic educational centers with an excellent staff of
professors and teaching an interesting offer. I have chosen the MBA
studiesatCSBCUEbecauseofthefactthattheyguaranteeanappropriate
level of knowledge and provide the opportunity to acquire a reputable
degree. However more valuable than a diploma are management skills
gained from studying that work well in practice and let me continue
to benefit at work. MBA studies have refreshed and enhanced my
understanding of the business environment and strategic management,
have expanded the range of business skills required to develop myself
as a successful entrepreneur. Good atmosphere in the class, a group of
students from various business environments, positive feedback for staff
and professional level were among the major factors that speak for
choosing that course. During the workshop professors were trying to find
answerstoallquestionsraisedbyus.Workshopswereagreatcontribution
to the discussion how the theory of business translates into practice in different companies, ranging from large
multinational corporations to Polish family companies. We had an opportunity not only to listen to the teacher,
but to debate as well. I have felt as a part of an exciting, demanding, intellectual and personal adventure that
will lead to greater personal satisfaction.”
After several years of experience in various roles in HP Enterprise Business,
being encouraged and supported by my management I have decided
to undertake new challenge and start MBA studies. I have found the
International MBA program conducted by Cracow School of Business
and St. Gallen Business School being a combination of practical and
theoretical knowledge providedin a very innovative and ofteninteractive
way. From the beginning it was very important for me to find a part-time
MBA study program that would allow in the same time to continue to
work and develop professionally within my company. International MBA
Program is conducted fully in English which is great advantage both for
people working in corporate environment as well as those managers
who want to challenge themselves as entrepreneurs. I think participation in MBA program helps to
discover the self-confidence that one was never aware of.Ithas helped me to go into difficult or stressful
situations and find solutions or achieve goals in different way than before. It is also a great opportunity
to gain a powerful network of business contacts. There are many other benefits of the MBA that include
the actual learning – which is provided by professors coming from different international universities
who often arepractitioners connected to the world’s top companies. The overall experience is enriched
by meeting the classmates from study group, meeting many people and gaining new friends during
various seminars and study trips.

and the world of MBA students and graduates from Poland and abroad, on the other.
Thanks to the Congress, MBA students and graduates, namely people holding managerial
positions, may exchange experience in the field of management, not only in the domestic, but also the
international aspect. Foreign guests and MBA students participating in the Congress make it possible to
create an active platform of international communication and cooperation.
During the International MBA Congress, organized on an annual basis, students have an
opportunity to learn how experts from the world of business cope with management. The congress
panels are run by top-class specialists from various trades – representatives of leading companies,
showing the trends occurring in business. Additionally, Congress participants take part in Study Visits
– visits to companies which are example of interesting management models. In 2012, these included:
Motorola, Nokia Siemens Networks, Coca-Cola, Silgan White Cap Polska, Cracow Technology Park.
„It is a great pleasure and an honour to work with, and for the professionals. This
was also the case in cooperation with Cracow School of Business CUE, the main
organizer of the 8th International MBA Congress 2012. It was for us, i.e. for Group
A05, a very demanding and constructive partner. For six months of cooperation we
have discovered an efficiently operating structure of the School office and its very
devoted and professional staff. We very much appreciate this experience , and we
are hoping for further contacts with Cracow School of Business CUE and the MBA
environment.”
„The MBA Congress constitutes a unique idea of the integrity of the MBA sector in
Poland, including both business and networking platform of cooperation between
alumni of the MBA Programs. The strategic goal for Cracow School of Business CUE
to build a strong relationship with its students and alumni also becomes visible. I
have been executing the MBA Congress for 7 years, developing the idea from the
very beginning, interacting with other MBA schools in Poland and abroad and bu-
ilding a repetitive formula of the congress. I believe that such initiatives are crucial
for developing high standards of the MBA education in Poland. There are many
stakeholders in this process, among them students, alumni, MBA programs, busi-
ness. In times where, executive education becomes not only a competitive advan-
tage but a must for business leaders, universities shall enforce blended education
and interaction. The idea of the MBA Congress initiated by the Cracow School of
Business CUE fulfills such goal. Every year, MBA Congress brings together alumni
from different MBA programs. They represent very different companies, sectors, functions and experience. What is
common is the MBA education and ambition for self-improvement, self-development. That’s a great opportunity to
meet new business partners, to exchange business ideas, to discuss problems faced by individuals and companies,
to work out solutions. That is also quite innovative environment where you can create new ideas. It differentiates
the congress form other trade conferences where you usually find people from similar sectors or positions. Another
important part of the MBA Congress is the roundtable of MBA Programs Directors. That is an informal meeting where
they can discuss strategic market and structural changes and present best practices implemented in their schools.
Finally, the MBA Congress in a business conference, where every year, new trends and business case studies are pre-
sented. The MBA Congress represents a great example of the mature strategy to build effective cooperation between
the alumni and the school.”

  • 1. Aude aliquid dignum INTERNATIONAL MBA PROGRAMME European Multicultural Integrated Management Programme EFMD full member
  • 2. 2 Cracow School of Business CUE ABOUT UNIVERSITY
  • 3. 3 Ladies and Gentlemen, Cracow School of Business CUE is a modern educational institution whose unique programme offer is continuously adapted to the needs and to the changing market conditions. The history of the MBA Programmes dates back to 1994, when the Cracow School of Business of the Cracow University of Economics (former School of Entrepreneurship and Management, Cracow University of Economics) was first in southern Poland to launch the studies of this type. Being a precursor in this field allowed the School, already at the very beginning of implementation of this idea, to assume a high position. It allowed to launch in 2006 the second MBA Programme in CSB CUE - the International MBA Multicultural Integrated Management Program- me, carried out in association with the St. Gallen Business School in Switzerland. The School, operating within the framework of the Cracow University of Economics, with long-time tradition, is aware that the basic value of the studies is professional teaching personnel. It consists of lecturers, as well as specialists-practitioners, whose theoretical knowledge, as well as business experience allows the stu- dents to develop managerial skills. The School, thanks to the level of the services provided, ensures for its alumni competitiveness on the international job market. Cracow School of Business CUE, in its activity, co-participates in creation of ethical values of the worlds of science and business through staff training in different areas of economic and social life at the highest level as well as by preparing them for a modern management style, according to world standards. According to the mission of CSB CUE, students as addressees of the Programme obtain knowledge enabling constant raising of qualifications and skills, and hence achievement of personal and professional goals in the long-term perspective. The students, as an international and interactive community, create the teaching process and the final form ofthe Programme. Flexible approach to each edition of the studies and to each student prevents losing, in the Programme management, its primary goal. The International MBA Programme permanently connects its alumni with the School and the Univer- sity. There is no way to create a Programme for training managers without strong and extensive relations with the business. The driving force of the School is intensive didactic and research cooperation with foreign institu- tions. One of the principles of Confucianism, presented during the International MBA Congress in 2012 says: Since we have become better than yesterday, we should start to improve from tomorrow. Let’s create tomorrow together. You are cordially invited to Cracow School of Business CUE. Piotr Buła, Ph.D. Director of Cracow School of Business Cracow University of Economics

I have found the International MBA program conducted by Cracow School of Business and St. Gallen Business School being a combination of practical and theoretical knowledge providedin a very innovative and ofteninteractive way. International MBA Program is conducted fully in English which is great advantage both for people working in corporate environment as well as those managers who want to challenge themselves as entrepreneurs. I think participation in MBA program helps to discover the self-confidence that one was never aware of.Ithas helped me to go into difficult or stressful situations and find solutions or achieve goals in different way than before. It is also a great opportunity to gain a powerful network of business contacts. There are many other benefits of the MBA that include the actual learning – which is provided by professors coming from different international universities who often arepractitioners connected to the world’s top companies. • 24. internationa l mba congress CSB CUE, as the only school in Poland, organizes the International MBA Congress. This is a project integrating the worlds of science and business on the one hand, and the world of MBA students and graduates from Poland and abroad, on the other. Thanks to the Congress, MBA students and graduates, namely people holding managerial positions, may exchange experience in the field of management, not only in the domestic, but also the international aspect. Foreign guests and MBA students participating in the Congress make it possible to create an active platform of international communication and cooperation. During the International MBA Congress, organized on an annual basis, students have an opportunity to learn how experts from the world of business cope with management. The congress panels are run by top-class specialists from various trades – representatives of leading companies, showing the trends occurring in business. Additionally, Congress participants take part in Study Visits – visits to companies which are example of interesting management models. In 2012, these included: Motorola, Nokia Siemens Networks, Coca-Cola, Silgan White Cap Polska, Cracow Technology Park. „It is a great pleasure and an honour to work with, and for the professionals. This was also the case in cooperation with Cracow School of Business CUE, the main organizer of the 8th International MBA Congress 2012. It was for us, i.e. for Group A05, a very demanding and constructive partner. For six months of cooperation we have discovered an efficiently operating structure of the School office and its very devoted and professional staff. We very much appreciate this experience , and we are hoping for further contacts with Cracow School of Business CUE and the MBA environment.” „The MBA Congress constitutes a unique idea of the integrity of the MBA sector in Poland, including both business and networking platform of cooperation between alumni of the MBA Programs. The strategic goal for Cracow School of Business CUE to build a strong relationship with its students and alumni also becomes visible. I have been executing the MBA Congress for 7 years, developing the idea from the very beginning, interacting with other MBA schools in Poland and abroad and bu- ilding a repetitive formula of the congress. I believe that such initiatives are crucial for developing high standards of the MBA education in Poland. There are many stakeholders in this process, among them students, alumni, MBA programs, busi- ness. In times where, executive education becomes not only a competitive advan- tage but a must for business leaders, universities shall enforce blended education and interaction. The idea of the MBA Congress initiated by the Cracow School of Business CUE fulfills such goal. Every year, MBA Congress brings together alumni from different MBA programs. They represent very different companies, sectors, functions and experience. What is common is the MBA education and ambition for self-improvement, self-development. That’s a great opportunity to meet new business partners, to exchange business ideas, to discuss problems faced by individuals and companies, to work out solutions. That is also quite innovative environment where you can create new ideas. It differentiates the congress form other trade conferences where you usually find people from similar sectors or positions. Another important part of the MBA Congress is the roundtable of MBA Programs Directors. That is an informal meeting where they can discuss strategic market and structural changes and present best practices implemented in their schools. Finally, the MBA Congress in a business conference, where every year, new trends and business case studies are pre- sented. The MBA Congress represents a great example of the mature strategy to build effective cooperation between the alumni and the school.” Magdalena Petryniak MBA Congress Coordinator 2005-2011 Conference and Events Director, Harvard Business Review Poland Piotr Wilczek President of the Board, Grupa A-05 Meetings&Events 24
