This document outlines Ajinkya Pawar's proposal to build a secure digital platform called "Unite" to enable meaningful civic participation and organization. The platform would use blockchain and AI technologies to allow users to securely communicate, coordinate, conduct online referendums, fact-check information, and plan and track community initiatives across multiple organizations. Pawar believes rising issues like climate change, inequality and xenophobia require new ways for people to come together and influence policies, companies and neighborhoods in a transparent, empowering manner. The document provides details on how the proposed Unite platform would work and envisions it helping reduce precarity, isolation and propaganda by making users less like "flotsam" and more in control of their lives

THE FALSE
COMMUNITY
Facebook, Linkedin, networking
events….
Most avenues of social interactions
don’t help the new generation of
mobile precariats to ORGANISE in a
meaningful way.
Social media is less about building community , more about spreading
propaganda, projecting identity and building favorable life narrative.

Community Action and Social Media: A Review of the Literature
The literature reviewed here is dominated by studies of and commentary on the political
impact of social media use, in particular in forms of protest. For community organisations
and groups in the UK, it is striking that, while these media may have helped to change some
processes, there seems to have been little impact on the overall
outcomes in terms of empowerment, equalities or social justice.
Utopian anticipations, where such outcomes were seen as a consequence of inexpensive,
ubiquitous, horizontal communication, are looking problematic: there is, as yet, little
evidence of benefit from social media use for small agencies working at the local level.

URGENCY
TO
ORGANISE
We need to come together NOW.
Ecological urgency
Humanitarian crisis
Rising precarity among all classes.
We need ways to improve together, to
help each other.
Humanitarian crisis – We can
help each other, if there is a will.
But there isn’t enough of it.

NEITHER
LEFT NOR
RIGHT
We need new imagination for 21st
century. 20th century ideas of
capitalism, communism etc., have left
us at the precipice of climate change,
pillaged public goods and an all
pervading sense of distrust.
Rule in all organisations is based on the same power dynamic:
that of between the ruler, essentials, influentials and inter-
changeables. The difference between a democracy and a
dictatorship is merely that of the composition – ratio of
essentials to interchangeables.
Hence focus must be on making everyone an essential in the
power dynamic.

• To organize meaningfully
• To trust each other and act
together
• To conduct binding referendums
• To not be fooled by propaganda
and smokescreen.
• To remain focused on what is
important and immediate

AJINKYA PAWAR
Hello.
I am Ajinkya Pawar, a WPP Atticus award winning brand
strategist by profession, currently heading planning for
Ogilvy Sri Lanka.
I am deeply concerned with the global dangers of climate
change, rising xenophobia and rising inequality. I believe,
my expertise in strategy can be put to better use in the
fight against these three dangers.
I believe, these problems can’t be solved without
meaningful civic participation. Hence, I propose to build a
secure platform for meaningful, action-oriented civic
participation.
I am passionate about the idea and would love your
support in terms of capital, capabilities and scale.
Please write to me at ajinkyapawar@gmail.com if you can
help make this a reality.
Thank you.
