Vertical Form Fill Seal Machine is divided in two sections – Bagger
& Filler. Company has supplied Bagger with weigh filler back in
2001. New weigher was supplied few months back for increasing
capacity. New weigh filler was not compatible with bagger as
nobody had old data however filler was still dispatched to site.
Resolved incompatibility issue in two days by drawing upon my
knowledge & previous experience.

1. Unmanned vehical project in nuclear field
System description –
System involved design & manufacture of an unmanned
inspection vehicle operating in environment having temperature
of 150 deg celcius.
Vehicles is expected to move on four wheels which can be rotated
with help of stepper motors for deciding direction. Vehicle
movement is done by servo motor.
Vehicle carries various inspection devices like ultrasonic sensors,
cameras with zoom & focus control & instrumentation like load
cells, LVDTs, RTDs.
All inspeciton devices reside in 150 deg celcius temperature
environment & hence cooled with help of a separate cooling
system.
An integrated control system environment controls all vehicle
operations.
Nature of of work done
Project management
Selection of integrated control system environment including
Labview & NI hardware to suit motion, vision & data
acquisition requirements
Interaction with customer for understanding end user
requirement & preparation of software specification & safety
interlocking requirements.
Guidance to labview developer during developement
Selection of high temperature inspection devices, sensors,
motors, cables, etc.
2. Pick & place system for chocolate bar with Alan Bradley
control system
System description –
Objective is to pick up 30 nos. chocolate bars at a time at the
rate of 500 bars per minute. Bars are picked from customer’s
product conveyor & are released on conveyor which is used for
delivering bars to flow wrapping machine.
Machine has one ball screw slide for travel from one conveyor to
another & pneumatic cylinder for verticle movement of picker.
Electrical/electronic system consists of a Mocrologix 1400 PLC &
PV component HMI, Ultra 3000i servo drive & MPL-B-320 servo
motor for indexing of a picker with ball screw slide.
6. Page 6 of 9
Logic involves homing routine at power on, indexing of picker
from one conveyor to other, interlocking for ensuring indexing at
a time when pneumatic cylinder is at vertically up position only.
Nature of of work done
Component selection.
Software development.
Project control.
3. Control system for rotary punching machine
System description –
Machine has cutter & feeder roller. Wire is fed to machine by
feeder which is cut by cutter at a speed of 4000 cuts per min.
Teeths have a settable pitch of 1.5mm to 5mm.
Electrical/electronic system has HPB servo drive/motor pair each
for cutter & feed roll which are electronically geared. It also has
Vipa PLC & Exor HMI for machine logic.
Nature of of work done
Component selection.
Software development.
Project control.
4. Control system for leaflet topserting machine
System description –
Machine has a leaflet picking & placing assembly which is driven
by a servo motor. It consists of two arms each having vacuum
cups. Each arm picks up leaflet from leaflet magazine & places
the same on top of the bottle during the cycle at the speed of 80-
100 leaflets per minute.
Electrical/electronic system has HPB servo drive/motor set, a cam
switch for event selection of operation of pneumatic solenoid
valves, Vipa PLC, Exor HMI for machine logic.

Diagram, Instruction List, Sequential Flow chart.
In addition to technical support of Lenze open & closed loop frequency
inverters I have done following notable projects.
1. Complete PLC & HMI programming for a machine having Lenze
PLC & Baumuller servo controller. Major task was to read & write
servo parameters with PLC by using RS232 module. I achieved
this by doing majority programming in Structured Text.
2. Complete PLC, HMI & inverter programming using Lenze PLC, HMI
& Distributed I/O system. This was done for Textile sizing machine
involving extensive PLC programming for auto cycle sequence,
controlling of analog inputs & outputs for tension & proportional
