2. INTRODUCTION
Launching a Sourcing Project is a significant start point that deserves a fair amount of
preparation and planning to maximize the chances of success and/or favourable outcome
This preparation in Procurement World is termed as ‘Project Risk Assessment’ or simply Project
Assessment. It is based on Data Collection in phase 1. We also have a phase 2 of Data
Collection stage that is beyond the scope of this course
During the assessment, we study about the boundary conditions, pre-requisites, baselines,
stakeholder expectations and market conditions to build a laser sharp response and preparation
against potential risks and/or roadblocks. We also decide the measurement criteria of success at
this stage of Project Assessment
