 The Pointe at Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, UAE
The project is a mixed use complex with retail, food and beverage.
The Jumeirah Pointe project has been conceived as an exciting and vibrant terminus to the overall residential spine
of the Palm. This honorific place, which is directly opposite and across the bay from the landmark Atlantis Hotel, will
feature a destination type, linear complex featuring casual dining venues of Cafés, coffee shops and specialty
restaurants.
The architecture will cater to a relaxed quayside ambiance, where the restaurant’s lower and upper terraces and
balconies will adjoin interior spaces, thus allowing innovative seating and uncompromised views of the waterfront’s
many features and amenities.
The sinuously curving facades of these venues will parallel the water and its landscaped terraces. Casual strolling
and various leisure activities are planned for this quay side location, including the viewing of the “Dancing waters”
computerized fountains which can be viewed from the convenient arena seating nestled into the shoreline.
3
It is envisioned that the central complex, with its restaurants arrayed around the twin palm courtyards, will also
contain a new station for the monorail, thus connecting the Palm’s residents and visitors as well as the Atlantis hotel
directly to this exciting destination. In addition to the monorail, the central area will also have a convenient wharf
where boats will shuttle visitor to and from the Atlantis Hotel.
The site total area is 136,000 sqm where approximately 15% of building footprint (21,000 sqm) will provide ample
area for promenades (40,500 sqm), piazzas (11,000 sqm) and landscaping (17,000 sqm).
The two floor retail of 38,000 sqm will accommodate restaurants (28,500 sqm) and shops (9,500 sqm) in carefully
selected areas with the mixture of indoor and outdoor terraces and arcades to enhance the experience of dining
and shopping while enjoying the spectacular waterfront.
The site also provides a convenient parking area of 40,500 sqm serving approximately 1260 cars. In addition, a 1,000
sqm monorail station will facilitate any additional transportation required to and from the site.
 West Bay Downtown Urban Plaza, Doha, Qatar
The Project development has a plot area of 20,252 m2 and is situated in Al-Dafna area next to Doha bank & Doha
Cornish Road.
The Project innovative modern design will form and create a modern and ambitious community in an eco-friendly
sustainable environment.
The Project comprises of the following components:
- Multi-level Underground Parking.
- Mosque with Sculptured Iconic Minaret.
- Landscaped Open Urban Plaza.
- Cafés.
- Business Center.
- Boutique Shops.
- Other Services and Facilities.
The concept focuses on creating building forms that emerge from the ground and blend in with the plaza, creating
an interactive contemporary hub for the daily users in the vibrant area of downtown Doha. The mosque, which is
the main focus on site, is designed to be a unique and iconic building. A meditation lake is created around the
mosque to maintain the serene and peaceful mood around it.
As you approach the site from the main road, a platform will be present at the main entrance to the central plaza
where local artists can display continuously changing sculptural elements, this platform encourages cultural and arts
engagement of locals and maintain the intangible culture of the place. The central plaza is more interactive and
busy, as it is surrounded by the cafes, restaurants and business center. The central plaza includes a small
amphitheater which could be used for cultural events and arts exhibition.
The architecture of the cafes and business center is based on the concept of green walkable roofs emerging from
the plaza to create one uniform and engaging space for the users.
