For all things there are to be said about WordPress, out-of-the-box SEO certainly is NOT its strong suit. If your idea of optimizing your WordPress stops at hitting Publish on your latest post, you’re missing out on a lot of potential.
As we use Wordpress so much and make a lot of revenue thanks to search engine traffic (SEO), here's what works best in terms of optimizing your WordPress website for SEO.
First, let’s get past the “obvious” best practices and then we’ll go into the slightly more advanced SEO tactics that I will share later in the link below...

A QUICK FRAME OF REFERENCE
“You never get a second chance to make a first
impression.” ! Heard it before
That’s why getting found online is so important – getting a
first chance. ! Only need to prove it once
4. TITLE TAGS
60 Characters or Less à NEVER a Brand Name à Close to Organic Search Keyword Results
5. META TAGS
• Description = 150 to
160 characters or less
• Stuff with keywords
• H1 Tags are a MUST
• All should be unique
6. • Log into WordPress dashboard and
navigate to the “settings” tab.
• Click on the “permalinks” option.
• Select the box that says “Post name.”
– Creates permalinks that have the same name as
blog posts and/or articles.
• For example, for an article or blog post
titled “SEO Strategy Template”:
– Default permalink structure will create a link like
this: unfunnel.com/?p=123
– Post name permalink structure will create a link
that looks like this:

– Search engines give your first keyword phrase more priority than any
other keywords within your site description.
• Use keyword at least one more time in site description.
– Keep in mind: Spammers abused the “front page keyword” tag, so it doesn’t hold as
much weight as it used too. So don’t waste a lot of time on the front page keywords.
• Leave the “site-wide META tags” option empty. The plugin
will handle this feature automatically.
• Scroll down and click the boxes for the following settings:

Turn on Pingbacks
One way to get more links to your site (which increase search engine rankings) is actually to link to other
people. If you are regularly supporting a site, it’s very likely that they’re going to return the favour.
Especially if they’re in the same industry. I recommend turning on the option in WordPress (if it’s not
already enabled) which notifies other blogs when you have linked to them.
Use Alt Attributes Religiously
It’s ridiculous how much emphasis Google seem to be putting the alt attribute when it comes to not only
ranking images highly, but also ranking your posts highly as well.
WordPress applies alt attributes to images automatically, but they are generated based on the file name.
Therefore, if you save your images as “minimalist-marketing.jpg” or whatever your content is about, then
WordPress will automatically generate that text.
The alt tag is a way to tell search engines what your images are actually about. Not only will it help you
get more search traffic to your images, but it helps the overall rankings of a page, as well.
