In a nutshell the idea is that you would make
sure to provide text about your site in key areas
to help search engines understand your site
better.
12. search engines evolve
Each search engine has its own unique
algorithm. The algorithms change in order to
stay above the fray, providing answers that are
relevant and trustworthy.

● Forget about Key“words,” go for the “long-tail”
Research, research, and more
Research
14. ● A/S/L

● What is important to this audience?
● What do you provide for them and what would they value in

24. SEO CHECKLIST
Length of Text
Find a balance. You want to be as descriptive as possible without over spamming your site with too much
text that people won’t read or seem spammy to google.
Title and Header or Headings
AKA the H1 tag, Make sure to write descriptive sentences as much as possible in the H1, H2, H3.
Mobile
Is your site friendly to small screens? Text large enough? Links far away from each other enough so that
they are easy to click on? Flash elements?
Page Speed
Does your site take too long to load? Slow loading time can be cause by having image files that are too
large or perhaps you just have too many. Do you have a lot of widgets on your page? Keep only the
essentials.
Images
Look through your images, make sure that you take advantage of the title and “alt text” area to plug in
some keywords. Always be sure that the title of your image is still a correct representation of the image we
see.
Navigation
Is it easy for people to get to the various pages of your site to find the information that they need? Make
sure to make navigation simple and visible!
25. Here’s a quick test…
See your site the way google sees
it
30. Don’t try to hide keywords either by adding them only to the
code nor by making them transparent or putting them in super
small text AKA “CLOAKING”
Don’t title your images with a bunch of keywords that do not
describe what’s actually on the image.
Don’t write the same keywords over and over again AKA
“Keyword Stuffing”
Don’t create extra pages just for the sake of more keywords.
Using Flash for any of your media or content.
Do not have a fake website or business by another name to try
to generate multiple leads AKA “Domain Parking”
Thou shalt not commit these SEO
atrocities:
