How did you use new media technologies in the
construction and research, planning and evaluation
stages?
Media Studies
Premiere Pro
Premiere Pro is what we used during our research to practice editing
to the beat, whilst planning it was used to make an animatic and to
make our final project which is the music video. This software was
very important throughout the whole project as it was how we
practiced editing to the beat which was vital to this assignment
because our thriller the year before, did not need to be edited to a
certain beat, whereas with the music video editing to the beat was
vital as it made the music video flow and would be jarring for the
audience it was not on beat. Premiere Pro was also important for
practicing how to edit lip syncing. This tested our ability to be
accurate and precise when editing as this aspect had to be perfect.
Without this editing software, we wouldn't be able to put our clips
and audio together.
Photoshop
Photoshop was important as it was used for our ancillary
texts. During our research, we practiced editing and
manipulating images for our future magazine adverts and
digipaks. Photoshop is a very useful and important software
to have as it allows to perfect pictures like hiding spots or
blemishes but also allowing you manipulate the images
making them into masterpieces that you could never make
with just a camera.
Blogger
I used blogger to upload all my research, planning, construction,
and final product. This has been the only way that I have been
able to upload all of my media work and progress over the past
two years. Blogger is an effective way to upload different
formats of work as there are tools that allow you to embed work
from other websites. This lets me explore different ways of
showcasing my work without limitations. It’s also good for
keeping my work organised as there are tools for different labels
regarding each section of work.
YouTube
YouTube played a large part in the research aspect of making
my music video as it was where a majority of my inspiration
came from. I saw other examples of music videos and took
some ideas and improved them. I also used this to distribute
my music video.
iPhone/Mac Computer
I used these pieces of hardware to take picture of my media
journey as well as upload from software such as PremierPro
and Photoshop. I also used these apple products to collect
audience feedback.
Camera
Without a digital camera, any type of filming would not have
been possible. The camera acted as the eyes of the
audience because we were capturing everything that they
would see. A camera can Build tension because the method
of cutting back and forth between two people can also
create tension if with each cut the camera gets closer. 13.
Comparison Use the same methods to display their
characters in certain way but they approach the filming and
editing differently.
