5. Crowdsourcing van een probleem dat
onoplosbaar leek: plaatsbepaling op zee;
het bepalen van een oost-west positie
(lengtegraad).
De beste wetenschappers en zeevaarders
konden dit probleem niet oplossen, en dat
terwijl handel op zee de economie en
maatschappij dreef.
Het Britse parlement bood
£ 20,000 pond prijzengeld (vergelijkbaar
met €3.52 miljoen nu) voor de oplossing,
aangezien transportkosten hoog waren.

verschillende disciplines goed moeten samenwerken.
waardoor analyse achteraf mogelijk is.

38. Uitdagingen bij cocreatie
4. Kun je misbruik, grove taal, banaliteiten, e.d. Vermijden of
voorkomen bij crowdsourcing?

ontdekken.
You may have noticed construction workers in bright orange gear using alien-type machinery in and around Gauteng. Their aim is to finally put a lid on the plague of potholes that have threatened our safety for far too long now.The 12-week Pilot project is being carried-out by Dial Direct Insurance and Trafficare, in association with the Gauteng Provincial Department of Roads and Transport (GPDRT)According to Bradley Du Chenne, spokesperson for Dial Direct Insurance: “The increasing number of potholes, which are growing in size as fast as they are multiplying, are firstly a safety hazard and, what many people don’t realise is that even the slightest encounter with a pothole can knock the wheel alignment out, causing unpleasant consequences further down the line.”In the interest of public safety and urban pride, Dial Direct’s Pothole Brigade is proactively filling potholes in the Gauteng area using innovative ‘Jetpatcher’ technology. The Dial Direct Pothole Brigade has already managed to fill approximately 650 potholes on the R55 in Kyalami, the R562 in Diepsloot, the R511 on William Nicol and the R114 from the R511 to the N14.“Dial Direct is all about providing simple, smart insurance solutions and the Pothole Brigade follows suit by offering a simple, smart solution to a problem that affects us all. This initiative could also eliminate unnecessary claims on motorist’s car insurance policies and save motorists money in the long run,” concludes Du Chenne.
Goldcorp was the only mining company selected. Rob McEwen, named as a Leader on the Fast 50 list, launched the “Goldcorp Challenge”, the world’s first internet Gold Rush in March 2000. He introducedglobal brainstorming to mining and broke the mold in an old industry! In March 2001, Goldcorpannounced the winners of its US$575,000 internet Challenge. This was the first of its kind - Goldcorpwas sharing valuable information on its rich Red Lake gold deposit with the world. Never before had amining company made this type of information public. Within the 4 month registration period the“Goldcorp Challenge” website received over 475,000 hits and more than 1,400 individuals from 50countries registered for “The Challenge”.But in March 2000, at an industry meeting, McEwen unveiled the Goldcorp Challenge. The external response was immediate. More than 1,400 scientists, engineers, and geologists from 50 countries downloaded the company's data and started their virtual exploration. When the entries started coming in, the panel of five judges was astonished by the creativity of the submissions. The top winner was a collaboration by two groups in Australia: Fractal Graphics, in West Perth, and Taylor Wall & Associates, in Queensland, which together had developed a powerful 3-D graphical depiction of the mine.

The Airport Living Lab project is a joint effort between the Swedish Aviation Authority, SAS Ground Services and CSC Sweden to establish a Living Lab that can continuously improve the airport processes at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport. The project is also performing research on the evolution of the Living Labs concept with respect to open innovation in collaboration with the National IT-user Center at Uppsala University and Stockholm School of Economics.VisionThe project aims at making Stockholm-Arlanda Airport one of the world's most innovative and user- friendly airports.MissionBy harnessing the concept of multi-organizational open innovation Stockholm-Arlanda Airport will multiply its pace of innovation by involving all airport stakeholders, such as passengers and personnel, into the innovation process.ObjectivesThe Airport Living Lab project has two main objectives: • To perform high-quality research on open innovation and Living Labs concepts and adapting these to an airport environment. • To establish a self-sustaining Airport Living Lab at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport. Initial partnersThe project has received research funding from VINNOVA, the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems, and the project is being run by:• LFV Stockholm-Arlanda Airport• SAS Ground Services• CSC • National IT-user Center (NITA) at Uppsala university• Center for Information and Communication Research, CIC at Stockholm School of Economics StatusThe project has during its second phase during the autumn 2008 focused on piloting the entire open innovation process with supporting processes and governance structure. Iceland residents voted overwhelmingly in favour of a new Constitution written by a Constitutional Council of 25 citizens who gathered feedback through social media. The ballot, which is non-binding, included six questions written by the Constitutional Council, to which voters could either respond ‘yes’ or ‘no’. The vote was held on Saturday (19 October). The process to draft a new constitution began after the country's 2008 financial meltdown prompted calls for reforms (see background).A new basic law is due to replace the existing Constitution from 1944, which is largely inspired by the Danish constitution of the time and is seen as anachronism. Iceland used to be a colony of Denmark. In July 2011, the Constitutional Council presented its draft to Parliament. The text, consisting of 114 articles, has been put together with feedback gathered via social networking websites Facebook and Twitter. News media have dubbed the new Icelandic basic law as the world's first "crowdsourced constitution".Backers of change hope that politicians will not ignore the referendum, even though parliament is responsible for adopting a new constitution and the main opposition party has said it opposes proposed changes.Initial results showed that 66% of participants voted in favour of a Constitution drafted by the Council. Nearly half of the island's 235,000 eligible voters participated.More than 80% voted to declare all non-privately owned natural resources as “national property”. Fishing accounts for about 7% of the economy and critics say that fishing rights have benefited a select few. Backers of the system say it has led to sound management of fish stocks.Residents also voted to allow the Evangelical Lutheran Church to retain its role as state church (see the vote result to all six questions).ValgerðurBjarnadóttir, who chairs the Icelandic Parliament's Administration and Supervision Committee, says a bill for a new Constitution could be ready within two weeks. The bill would be presented to Parliament for debate before being put to a vote, a process she believes could be finished before the parliamentary elections in the spring. Voting on a new Constitution, she said, could be held alongside the elections.
Adri Duivesteijn (PvdA) is wethouder Duurzame Ruimtelijke Ontwikkeling in Almere.
