2. FIRST KASHMIR WAR OF 1947-48:
The war was fought between India and Pakistan over
the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir from 1947
to 1948.
THE SINO-INDIAN WAR:
This was a war between China and India that
occurred in 1962. A disputed
Himalayan border was the main pretext for war.
THE INDO-PAKISTANI WAR OF 1965:
It was a culmination of skirmishes that took place
between April 1965 and September 1965 between
Pakistan and India.
INDO-PAKISTANI WAR OF 1971:
It was a military confrontation
between India and Pakistan that occurred during
the liberation war in East Pakistan from 3
December 1971 to the fall of Dacca (Dhaka) on 16
December 1971.
KARGIL WAR:
It was an armed conflict between India and
Pakistan that took place between May and July 1999
in the Kargil district of Kashmir and elsewhere
along the Line of Control (LOC).

4. The site is on the most prime location of INDIA, straight opposite to President house with India in between, so the
challenge was to provide on of the best public space on 26 acre land as a marker for the recital of heroism of soldiers
of Indian armed forces. An underpass is provide that connects the war memorial to war museum.
LOCATION: Lawn 1,2,&3 adjacent to India Gate, New Delhi.
