MA in Global Entrepreneurship
The MA in Global Entrepreneurship has been specifically designed to equip students with the skills,
knowledge and experience to start and maintain their own, unique and globally competitive business.
The MA goes beyond providing training in business startups, it also exposes students to the rigours of
entrepreneurial sustainability and provides graduates of this course with the necessary skillset to negate
the common pitfalls of entrepreneurial failure. Validated by the Coventry University.
MBA
An MBA has become an international global currency and graduates are highly sought after by multi-
nationals, consulting companies and corporate giants. The MBA programme at IBAT College Dublin is
designed to help students become senior managers or leaders in their businesses and have the
management and analytical tools to equip them to make the big picture strategic decisions in their field.

Pre Masters in Management
The Pre Masters in Management programmes are designed to prepare students for the linguistic and
academic demands of business-related postgraduate level study in IBAT College Dublin or other higher
education institutions. These programmes will fully prepare the learner for further postgraduate study
and learners will have the opportunity to develop the essential academic skills needed for a master’s
programme. Validated by University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
Bachelor of Business (Honours) with electives in
Marketing, Business, Information Systems or
International Business
What is the course about?
This is a comprehensive honours degree course covering all relevant aspects of business
practice as it exists in the working environment both domestically and abroad. It has been
designed to give the graduate a complete understanding of the functions of business.
Having been exposed to a number of facets of business in your first three years, you
then have the opportunity to specialise in your final year, choosing marketing, business
information systems or international business.
What will I learn?
You will gain an in-depth knowledge of business and acquire a broad range of skills
including analytics, problem solving, research and strategy. This course introduces a
wide range of business subjects in first and second year, and then investigates these
subjects in greater detail in third and fourth year. The final year of this course allows you
the opportunity to focus on their preferred discipline and to engage in an independent
research project of 7,500 words.
What certification will I get?
This course is validated by Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) – formerly HETAC. QQI is
the qualifications awarding body for third-level education and training Institutions outside
the university sector.
Higher Certificate in Business
What is the course about?
• This course will develop the foundational structure necessary to engage confidently in the world
of business. Best business practice is discussed throughout this course with practical application
stemming from case study analysis. You will study a diverse range of subjects that will utilise a
number of learning experiences, including group work, debates, presentations, essays and
project work.
What will I learn?
• This course covers core business disciplines that are designed to provide a foundation for more
advanced study at Ordinary Degree and Honours Degree level. The range of modules covered
on this course are designed to produce well-rounded graduates who would be an asset to an
organisation or who could confidently progress to a level 7 or 8 course. A full list of modules is
provided at the end of this page.
What certification will I get?
• This course is validated by Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) – formerly HETAC. QQI is the
awarding body for third-level education and training Institutions outside the university sector.
What can I do after this course?
• Upon completion of this course you are eligible to progress to the four year Level 7 Bachelor of
Business 1 year add-on course, or direct entry on to the 3rd year of our Honours Degree (Level
8).
Advanced Diploma in International Tourism
What is the course about?
• This course investigates the topic of tourism by examining its socio-economic, cultural and environmental
impacts and by providing practical knowledge about day-to-day operations in the tourism industry. The
current state of tourism and its potential developments are also investigated. Students will be introduced to
tourism and engage with this topic through a number of different disciplines such as marketing,
management and communications.
• Participants will learn skills that can be applied in tourism industries around the world.
What will I learn?
• Students will study a broad range of disciplines, each of which will focus on their practical application in the
tourism industry. On completion of the course students will be able to:
 Identify and analyse how the key concepts of tourism apply to the tourist market
 Describe the principles of customer service strategy
 Explain the costing of tourism products and services within a tourism organisation
 Explain how key marketing principles apply to a tourism organisation
 Identify the issues involved in designing a tourism operation.
Will this course improve my career potential?
Yes. On completion of this course graduates will have a strong understanding of the tourism industry. This
allows graduates to seek employment in a large cross-section within tourism, from general operations to more
specific areas, e.g. tourism marketing. Tourism is seen as a vital sector to many economies around the world. In
Ireland, government policy has demonstrated this through its reduced VAT rates for the tourism sector in an
attempt to boost economic activity. In the UK, similar measures were enacted to take advantage of their hosting
of the Olympic Games during the summer of 2012, which saw a huge influx of people into London. Similarly in
Brazil the tourism sector is expected to receive a massive boost from their hosting of both the World Cup in
2014 and the Olympic Games in 2016
The English Language School at IBAT College Dublin
Academic Progression
The classes are designed for students of all levels with focus on
improving accuracy in the main skills: reading, writing, listening
and speaking. Students work individually, in pairs and in groups
to complete assigned tasks.

IBAT Programmes range
from Level 5 to Level 9
Working in Ireland
– Students may work 20hrs/week during term
– Students may work full time outside of term
– Minimum wage is €8.65 per hour
– Our timetables are set to enable students to
work alongside their study, so students can be
fully immersed in Irish education, work and
culture
– QQI study visa includes a 6-12 month extension
period after your studies are completed, allowing
students to look for work in Ireland
– Subject to job type criteria and Salary threshold
graduates may get a Green card for two years
which may be extended by a further two years.

Visa Docs - APPLICATION:
• Fully completed online application form and your
signed summary application form, photographs and
fee. You must provide full details of your previous
education on the application form.
• A signed letter of application
• Outline your reason for coming to Ireland,
• Give details of any members of your family who are
currently in Ireland, or any other EU State.
• If your employment history or educational
background have no obvious connection to the course
you now wish to pursue, you must give a full
explanation of why you are now embarking on a
change of career
• Passport valid for minimum 12 months, and copy of
previous passport if applicable.
• Full Details on any prior Visa Refusals.
• Evidence of private medical insurance cover.
Visa Docs - FEES
• A copy of an Electronic Transfer of Funds from the applicant
to the Irish Bank of the college, showing details of
beneficiary's name, address, bank details and the same
details for sender, or
• A valid receipt showing that the course fees have been
lodged to an approved student fees payment service.
• Either Full Course fees or minimum €6K if greater than €6K
Visa Docs - ENGLISH:
• MUST submit evidence of English Language proficiency
– IELTS, Cambridge, PET, ETAPP
– Must be less than 2 years old
– Must meet the minimum course entry requirements
Arrival/Post Arrival:
• Student MUST bring copy of Final Offer Letter with them and
present at the airport to get the correct visa stamp!
• Students are given 30 days extension at the airport
• Must register with college, open bank account, lodge €3K and
register with GNIB station (€300 charge) to extend by 12
months – v straight forward process
• After 12 months re-registration letter from college to include
academic progression and attendance is required (€300) – v
straight forward provided student has attended/attained

This is a comprehensive honours degree course covering all relevant aspects of business practice as it exists in the working environment both domestically and abroad. Having been exposed to a number of facets of business in your first three years, you then have the opportunity to specialise in your final year, choosing marketing, business information systems or international business. Advanced Diploma in International Tourism What is the course about? • This course investigates the topic of tourism by examining its socio-economic, cultural and environmental impacts and by providing practical knowledge about day-to-day operations in the tourism industry. The current state of tourism and its potential developments are also investigated. Students will be introduced to tourism and engage with this topic through a number of different disciplines such as marketing, management and communications. • Participants will learn skills that can be applied in tourism industries around the world. What will I learn? • Students will study a broad range of disciplines, each of which will focus on their practical application in the tourism industry. On completion of the course students will be able to:  Identify and analyse how the key concepts of tourism apply to the tourist market  Describe the principles of customer service strategy  Explain the costing of tourism products and services within a tourism organisation  Explain how key marketing principles apply to a tourism organisation  Identify the issues involved in designing a tourism operation. Will this course improve my career potential? Yes. On completion of this course graduates will have a strong understanding of the tourism industry. This allows graduates to seek employment in a large cross-section within tourism, from general operations to more specific areas, e.g. tourism marketing. Tourism is seen as a vital sector to many economies around the world. In Ireland, government policy has demonstrated this through its reduced VAT rates for the tourism sector in an attempt to boost economic activity. In the UK, similar measures were enacted to take advantage of their hosting of the Olympic Games during the summer of 2012, which saw a huge influx of people into London. Similarly in Brazil the tourism sector is expected to receive a massive boost from their hosting of both the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympic Games in 2016

The English Language School at IBAT College Dublin Academic Progression The classes are designed for students of all levels with focus on improving accuracy in the main skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Students work individually, in pairs and in groups to complete assigned tasks. Working in Ireland – Students may work 20hrs/week during term – Students may work full time outside of term – Minimum wage is €8.65 per hour – Our timetables are set to enable students to work alongside their study, so students can be fully immersed in Irish education, work and culture – QQI study visa includes a 6-12 month extension period after your studies are completed, allowing students to look for work in Ireland – Subject to job type criteria and Salary threshold graduates may get a Green card for two years which may be extended by a further two years.

  • 20. Key Visa Considerations: • Is the Student coming to Ireland for the primary purpose of Education with intent to return home afterwards? • Student Profile – Consistent decision based on profile? – Can they follow the course? – Can they afford to do it? – Likely to return home thereafter?
  • 21. Visa Docs - APPLICATION: • Fully completed online application form and your signed summary application form, photographs and fee. You must provide full details of your previous education on the application form. • A signed letter of application • Outline your reason for coming to Ireland, • Give details of any members of your family who are currently in Ireland, or any other EU State. • If your employment history or educational background have no obvious connection to the course you now wish to pursue, you must give a full explanation of why you are now embarking on a change of career • Passport valid for minimum 12 months, and copy of previous passport if applicable. • Full Details on any prior Visa Refusals. • Evidence of private medical insurance cover.

Visa Docs - FEES • A copy of an Electronic Transfer of Funds from the applicant to the Irish Bank of the college, showing details of beneficiary's name, address, bank details and the same details for sender, or • A valid receipt showing that the course fees have been lodged to an approved student fees payment service. • Either Full Course fees or minimum €6K if greater than €6K Visa Docs - ENGLISH: • MUST submit evidence of English Language proficiency – IELTS, Cambridge, PET, ETAPP – Must be less than 2 years old – Must meet the minimum course entry requirements

Arrival/Post Arrival: • Student MUST bring copy of Final Offer Letter with them and present at the airport to get the correct visa stamp! • Students are given 30 days extension at the airport • Must register with college, open bank account, lodge €3K and register with GNIB station (€300 charge) to extend by 12 months – v straight forward process • After 12 months re-registration letter from college to include academic progression and attendance is required (€300) – v straight forward provided student has attended/attained
