4. TOPIC :DRONE
How Do Drones Fly? Physics, of Course!
A typical drone has four rotors. By varying the power to the these
four motors, the drone can hover, climb, descend, and turn.
Drones use rotors for propulsion and control. You can think of a rotor as
a fan, because they work pretty much the same. Spinning blades push
air down. Of course, all forces come in pairs, which means that as the
rotor pushes down on the air, the air pushes up on the rotor.
This is the basic idea behind lift, which comes down to controlling the
upward and downward force. The faster the rotors spin, the greater the
lift, and vice-versa.
Now, a drone can do three things in the vertical plane: hover, climb, or
descend. To hover, the net thrust of the four rotors pushing the drone up
must be equal to the gravitational force pulling it down. Easy. So what
about moving up, which pilots call climbing? Just increase the thrust
(speed) of the four rotors so that there is a non-zero upward force that
is greater than the weight. After that, you could decrease the thrust a
5. TOPIC :Gas cutting Torch
• Gas cutting is achieved by what is basically a
chemical/thermal reaction occurring with iron and iron alloys
only. Iron or its alloys may be heated to a temperature at
which the iron will rapidly oxidize in an atmosphere of high
purity oxygen.
• The principle of the process as applied to the cutting of steel
plates and sections in shipbuilding is as follows. Over a small
area the metal is preheated to a given temperature, and a
confined stream of oxygen is then blown onto this area.
• The iron is then oxidized in a narrow band, and the molten
oxide and metal are removed by the kinetic energy of the
oxygen stream. A narrow parallel sided gap is then left
between the cut edges.
7. TOPIC :Alarm Clock
• When an alarm clock rings, nearby air molecules
vibrate. The air molecules jiggle about and make
neighbouring molecules vibrate too, starting a wave of
energy that travels out from the clock.
• The wave of sound travels in a pattern of compressions
(where the air molecules are squeezed together) and
rarefactions (where the air molecules are stretched
apart).
• Traditional mechanical alarm clocks have one or two
bells that ring by means of a mainspring that powers a
gear to quickly move a hammer back and forth
between the two bells or between the interior sides
of a single bell. In some models, the metal cover at
back of the clock itself also functions as the bell.
8. TOPIC :Digital Single-lens Reflex Camera
• A digital single-lens reflex camera (digital SLR or DSLR) is
a digital camera that combines the optics and the mechanisms of
a single-lens reflex camera with a digital imaging sensor.
• The reflex design scheme is the primary difference between a
DSLR and other digital cameras. In the reflex design, light travels
through the lens and then to a mirror that alternates to send the
image to either a prism, which shows the image in the viewfinder,
or the image sensor when the shutter release button is pressed.
• The sensors used in current DSLRs ("Full-frame" which is the
same size as 35 mm film (135 films, image format 24×36 mm),
APS-C sized, which is approximately 22×15 mm, and Four
Thirds System) are typically much larger than the sensors found
in other types of digital cameras.
