Suggestopedia is a language teaching method originated in the 1970s by
Bulgarian psychologist Georgi Lozanov.
The name combines the terms "suggestion" and "pedagogy"
The term was coined and published for the first time in Bulgarian in 1965 and
in English in 1967. Suggestopedia was founded in the 70s by Professor
Lozanov and it was acknowledged in the late 70s by an international group of
UNESCO experts.

First stage : preparation
• students sit around teacher in circle
• starting the music or any sort of relaxing method
Second stage : implementing
• teacher starts the lesson
• students repeat after him
• the hand gestures and body movement
Third stage : practice
• students to repeat after the teacher
• the use any sort of way to make the students have complete attention
• the class is dismissed with no homework
Teacher and student role
Teachers role: The teacher has complete control over the learners and
behave like a parent he creates a way likely to encourage positive reception
in relaxing atmosphere
Student role : simply the has have faith in the system and accept the
childhood situation where the follow the teacher
Disadvantages and advantages
The advantages
• This method make students feel comfortable
• The students can be active in the class
• Students can improve their vocabulary from their speaking
• Increase students have confidence in their student
• Students become independent
The disadvantages
• The students do not understand the materials. Because the teacher is less
explained.
• No repetition and no answer by the teacher, it will be meaningless for students.
• The students can not catch the materials. Because the teacher command the
materials so fast.
