2. ABSTRACT
This summer practical attachment was conducted on Dangila woreda finance and economic
development office. The office found in Amehara region west Gojam zone in Dangila woreda in
Ferese bet town. The town is located at 470 kilo meter from capital city of Addis Ababa. The
main objective behind the attachment was to determine how theoretical learned course is applied
in the real world. It focus on identifying challenges and opportunity facing the organization and
some departments, it contain background of organization ,cardinal issues {mission, values,
vision, and objective} and organizational structure ,the extent to which the organization
realizing it objective mission vision values .the major strength, weakness ,opportunity and threat
of the organization analyzed, problem observed that affect the organization currently conducted
on this practical attachment ,more over suggested solution or measures to minimize the problems
are listed on this attachment. Secondly background of division, responsibility, objective and
activity of the department and major problems face me on work and remedial measures I was
taken and major problems of division and suggested solution are conducted on this attachment.
Additionally rationality, importance relevance organization and my activity, applicability of
theories and other on practical work and major problems face me during internship period and
suggested solution are discussed on this practical attachment. Generally, this attachment have
conclusion and recommendation.

4.1 BACKGROUND OF THE ORGANIZATION
West Gojam finance and Economic cooperation found in Aamara region dangila feres
bet town, It is 470 km far from Addis Ababa the capital city of the country .the office
was established in 1978 E.C
West gojam finance and economic cooperation they have around 18 woreda which is
connected each other for the purpose of sharing information the organization support
those woreda in different material and prepare the necessary plan & budget requirement.
These finance and economic cooperation the office has 46 employees. Among those 19
femal of holder and,27of male holder the remaining part other holder.
4.2 Cardinal issues of the organization
4.2.1 Vision
To improve the living standard of society through proper utilization of woreda resources
and make them to became middle income generator by 2014 in E.C.

To teach the society about the culture of paying tax

4.4. The extent to which the organization is realizing its vision mission and performance of
organization in relation to its objective
In order to achieve its objectives Dega damot woreda finance and economic development office
is trying to do best by accurately implementing its strategy in order to realizing its mission and
vision. It is under taking its objective in order to cope up with different problem. Even though
the organization is trying to do best .It is unable in achieving its objective all in all. In fact, it
does not mean that the organization face failure at all it all rather it achieve some it objective.
4.5. Strength, weakness, opportunity and threat or [SWOT] analysis of the organization
It is real that every organization is not perfect in all dimensions rather it may exposed to internal
and external factors that may affect the organization positively or negatively .This organization
has also below mentioned internal and external factor . These are

During my stay in organization I have got different information regarding problem that hinders
the organization currently. These problems are
Lack sufficient infrastructure
Absence of written document
Shortage of budget
Lack of computerized working system
Some employees reflect bad behavior
4.7. Suggested solutions or measures to taken to solve or at least minimize the problem
The possible solution to solve or minimize the above mention problems

Proper expansion of infrastructure
Compiling the organization data in written
Allocating enough budget to run the operation of the organization
Develop computerized working system
Train the employees as much as possible
Change attitude of employees by discussionsand realize their vision and mission.
By using 1 to 5 groups simplify a big task and finished within a short period of time. And
also have performance in relation to its objectives
They fulfill 90 percent of their work in relation to objectives and they rich 80 percent of
the organizations vision and mission.
To satisfy their customer interest increase their service range by 30 percent from previous
year.
The manager control day to day activity and identify the main problems and give immediate
solution to the problems. this means 90 percent of the organization problems solved
immediately.
4.3 organizational structures
In west gojam finance and economic cooperation office administrative structure is a matter of
arrangement of responsibility to accomplish the activities planned is efficient and effective
manner. It is the most crucial part of the organization to achieve its objective,
the administrative structure of the organization is changed from year to year in a way that
seems more convenient to accomplish the activity of the office .

5.1 Back ground of the department
Purchasing is one part of marketing management and procurement, financial and economic
development activate can be also activate of the department. Purchasing and administration
office is one of the departments in west Gojam finance and economic cooperation office.
In the case of this I would attach practical work with purchasing department in south Gondar
finance a
nd economic cooperation office specially purchasing and administration office. When come to in
west Gojam finance and economic development office have their own rule, regulation, plan and
responsibility.
5.2 Objective of the department
The major objective of the department of purchasing and administration office has their own
many objectives. From that objective some are:-
To give fast service to the society by preparing bidding document.
To assessing the current market condition and purchasing the right material or service
Perform planning and budgeting activate based on the true information.
Follow up effectiveness of the plan and program
To inform the system of the budget of owner.
To prepare purchasing plan.
5.3 The major responsibility as a member of a department
Preparing bidding document
To communicate one business sector to the other.
Preparing Performa invoice to send sealer
To approve and prepare payment check document for authority.
Record and take appropriate budget plan.
Preparing the tendering manual document

To separate permanent and perishable property

Purchasing and administration office has so many activate in the business world, but I would like
to see the major activate of the department are
Printing Bing report and kinds of document
Opening bidding box and close bidding box
Reading bidding document in front of the bidder
Give the bidder to the winner participate.
Prepare bidding consent document
Give bidding payment to the winner
Purchasing the capital and currently use the material from the market.
Improving the purchasing requisition form and record on the purchasing planning sheet

During the season practical attachment work I perform activities in the organization as a member
of purchasing department, from this activities perform
Compare practical attachment of the document from one organization from other
organization to get use full information
Punctual, sociable and good communication with workers of the department as
well as organization
Performing activities of the department or organization by coordination with other
employee
Helping the worker preparing bidding document
Preparing Performa invoice and sending to customer

5.5 Problem encountered on the job
Poor communication between purchasers officers, because of shortage computer access
for what are there do work properly.
Shortage of budget planning
Poor communication between candidates and proceeding shall be not writing.
5.5.1 Remedial measure that I have taken
Use computerized system in order to simplify or minimize work complexity.
The organization should be assign professional employee in the field.
Try to improve the communication between them and to make the activate together.
Try to do the activity in the short method.
5.6 Problems of division or department and suggested solution
West Gojam finance and economic cooperation office in the purchasing department has
problems that effect on performing activates and implementing objective. Those problems are;
Most of the employee is not graduated with purchasing department.
Lack of computer facilitating the work effectiveness
Lack communication between each employee in the office
Different activities of the department were performed by using old experience, so it does
not know the working system easily.

department of management also send student in different organization in summer time for 45

6.2 Significant of practical attachment
Having practical attachment with respect to the learning theory has great contribution and more
comfortable to the way for the well performance of the individual as well as student in the real
worked. So this practical attachment which I participate and work through professionalism, so
that I can become effective and productive to our respective

As its name indicate finance and economic development is one of the governmental sectors
whose responsibility is providing finance service and prepare development planning to promote
economic development through using available resource in productive way.
Generally the practical attachment relevance to the organization and student side are

To improve the relationship between business organization and educational institution.
To get experience for the future plan.
To know the relationship between organization and other institution. And to adjusting
themselves for real working environment.
6.4 Applicability of the theories and other learns in the class
The organization or the department being service provides different theories that learn in
different course are applicable on the organization activities. As I observed during practical
attachment some of course I have learned theoretically in class room and different applicable
with organization activities, such as consumer behavior, principle of accounting and so on.
For example when we see from consumer behavior I learn how to prepare for purchase for
example before purchase, and after purchase dictions to purchase. . So based on the course I
perform different activities in purchasing department
6.5 Major problems during practical attachment
At the beginning time I take a lot of time to adopt the organization environment code of
conduct rule and regulation.
Most of employee was not free to share their experience.
It is difficult to identify the document, because of of the presented of different document.
6.6 Suggested solution
The general manager should be given the apprentice in order to help him to adopt the
organization environmental rule and regulation.
The document should be organized in different code system.

7.1 Summary and Conclusion
As I tried express in main part of the report I practice full time in west gojam finance and
economic `cooperation office that include different historical and back ground of the
organization structure and establishment of the organization up to its present existence and also
objectives of the organization mission, vision, value and detailed description of the assignment
that carried on strength, weakness, opportunity and treaty analyses more and less discussed.
As I discussed the organization their own problem is hinders from objectives, mission, vision and
goals. So west gojam finance and economic cooperation office has many problems, among these
series problems are;-
Lack of modern technology like, computer
Narrowest the working room
Lack of ordered working system
Generally this practical attachment helps me to be more experienced to report my professional
practice
7.2 Recommendation
As the discussion in the main part of the report there are main problem in the office as well as the
organization. By considering these problems I try to recommendation my best solution is as
follow as
Every purchaser should get training.
The organization should be use necessary equipment in the office, like computerized
system.The government must give attention in hiring highly qualified employee in the
office for the achievement of organization objectives.Classified activities in different
groups to act easily and work with coordination in one to five are continued.The
organization should be prepared detailed ethical principle, rule and regulation.Improve
the problem regard to budget for party by making of preparing which is easily applicable
and by carrying on each country on the plan.Avoid unstructured office working problems
and resource problems.Every individual in the country should be responsible for their job
to achieve the growth and transformation plan of the country.Building customer oriented
service in the organization and customer satisfaction.
