For the past half-century, Abbot Giles Hayes has held diverse leadership positions as a teacher and headmaster with the Delbarton School, a college preparatory institution in northern New Jersey. Taking a position as headmaster in 1980, he worked with faculty in resolving pressing social justice issues and co-founded the Social Justice Committee. Abbot Giles Hayes also spearheaded the Prejudice Reduction Workshop and engaged collaboratively with the Jewish Anti-Defamation League to develop practical solutions. Today, prejudice reduction programs run by the Social Justice Committee continue as an integral part of campus life.
