3. Graphic Design Production
âą Advantages of working in this medium
â There are many advantages of working in this medium, one
being able to use adobe Photoshop which allows me to produce
the exact poster to the standard I would like it to be. Photoshop
also allows me to fix images to the exact pixel making the images
better quality and to a higher standard. Also whilst using
Photoshop it is very easy and quick to make minor adjustments
to your work, this can be done by using some of the hundreds of
different shortcuts, doing this makes your overall experience to a
lot higher standard.
âą Disadvantages of working in this medium
â One disadvantage of working in this medium is that I would have
liked to learn how to use more advance Photoshop tools to
improve my work to a higher and more professional standard.
Doing this would have given me a more pristine product to show
to the public
4. Graphic Design Production
There are many differences between my between my coca cola poster and the genuine poster. One
difference being that my poster has a lot more detail compared to the original one, this can be good and
bad, good because it gives everyone who looks at the poster a lot better understanding of the company
however it can also be bad because some people could be put off by the amount of information on it
because some people prefer posters in a simpler manor. If I was to redesign my poster I would take out
some of the detail to make it more appealing to a wider range of the public. Another difference is that
my poster includes the links to social media and includes one partnership (Olympics). How ever because
the genuine poster is a lot more simple I think it better suits the brand coke, than my poster does.
5. Graphic Design Production
For the coca cola logo I copied
an image from Google, then
using the magic wand tool I
deleted the background to
leave me with the lettering of
the logo. I then changed ,any
effects of the logo such as
adding, bevel and emboss,
stroke, inner shadow, satin and
gradient overlay. This made my
logo look like this.
One strength for my
poster is that I have used
my knowledge and
researched about the
brand coca cola, this is
my I included a solid red
background because
most of the coca cola
posters include a full red
back ground. This is also
why I included the
Olympics because coca
cola is a large sponsor.
To make the sports athletes
look part of the pattern coming
from the top of the coke bottle I
had to use the magic wand tool
to edit and delete parts I no
longer needed which made the
skier and dancer look part of
the pattern.
The coca cola bottle uses
typography, I decided to use this
image because it is two pictures in
one, it describes the taste of the
drink and the actually bottle.
6. Radio Production
âą Advantages of working in this medium
â One advantage of working in this medium is learning how to use
adobe audition, this has allowed me to learn the basic skills and how
to edit sound clips on adobe audition. This could help me later on if I
choose to use radio or sound in my final project. Another advantage of
working in this medium is that I had a lot of freedom to create any
audio clip I could dream of which was to do with the brand coke.
âą Disadvantages of working in this medium
â One disadvantage from working in this medium is that for the first
couple of lessons hard working on adobe audition because I did not
understand on how to work the program, however after improving my
skills there was no disadvantage of working in this medium. One more
disadvantage is that I would have much preferred to have learned
more advanced tools on the program because it would have positively
effected my final radio advert.
7. Radio Production
My advert Original coca cola advert
My radio advert is more relaxed and includes chilled jazz music and the original sounds of
coca cola products. Unlike the original coca cola advert which includes information on
what foods coca cola goes with to make you enjoy your meal more. My advert also
includes a voice saying the brand name and slogan, in the middle of the advert and at the
end of the advert, however the original advert has a voice saying the brand name, slogan
and other information throughout. I think that both my advert and the original advert
represent coca cola as a brand in many different ways, my advert concentrates more on
the pleasing sounds that coke makes such as the fizzing, however the original advert give
you a lot more information such like what foods coke is best served with.
8. Radio Production
âą There are many strengths and some weaknessâs for my radio advert, one
strength is that it is very simple to understand and know what the brand is
which is good for advertising coke. A weakness is that there is not a lot of
information in it, so if I was to do another radio advert I would include
some more information about the brand. Another strength is that my
radio advert is very relaxed, I did this by making my background music a
calm jazz beat. This beat goes really well with the enhanced sound of the
coca cola bottle opening and fizzing and then hitting the ice cubes inside
the glass. Overall these sound come together to give professional
sounding radio advert. Another weakness is that it only tells the listener
that it is a coca cola by saying the brand name at the end, if it said the
brands name multiple times, then someone who only listens to part of the
advert will still be able to realise which company's advert it is.
10. Video Game Production
âą Advantages of working in this medium
â One advantage of working in this medium is that it allowed me
to improve my skills in Photoshop by learning how to create
animation using Photoshop, by using Photoshop I was able to
edit images and slide them straight into the animation.
âą Disadvantages of working in this medium
â I found it was quite hard to edit the length of multiple clips at
once, if I knew how to do this I would have been able to save a
lot of time when producing my advergame. Another
disadvantage I found whilst I was making my advergame which
was using the animation software because I had never used it
before so it took me a while to get used to editing clips, moving
clips and making individual slides.
11. Video Game Production
One difference between my adverame for coca cola and M&Mâs is that M&Mâs
is a lot more simpler than mine, this makes it easier to understand. How ever I
personally think my advergame represents the brand better. One similarity is
that both my advergame and M&Mâs advergame is that they both include bright
colours, this makes my advergame attract more views to advertise the company
better. I think viewers of my advert will understand clearly what brand the
advert is, this is because I have generated a real life coca cola can, which
everyone will mostly be able to recognize the brand, this makes my advergame
very good for advertisement. I also think M&Mâs advergame did this very well
because the M&M characters are also very well know and are easily recognized
to the brand M&M.
12. Video Game Production
One strength for my advergame is that all through out the animation the brands logo is in it, this increases the
chance of the brand getting better known and increasing the sales. Also my advergame has very good motion,
this is because the speed of the animation is just making the advergame not to fast but at the same time no to
slow. This makes the experience a lot better for the viewer.
One weakness for my advergame is that for many of the images, they are very blurry. This is because when I
drew the picture it was perfectly clear, however when I went to change the size of my picture using the
transformation tool the image went very blurry and I then I has to try and recolour the image which took a lot of
time.
Some of the tools I used to create my advergame was, the pixel pencil tool, rubber, magic wand tool and the eye
drop tool. These tools are used in Photoshop, which allows me to to edit images quickly and efficiently, and the
make them visible in the animation. If I was to recreate my advergame, I would redo the animation so the game
ran a lot more smoothly instead of it jumping, doing this will make my final advergame more pristine and
promote the brand better.
13. Comparison
âą Which product do you believe advertises the product the best? Why?
â I personally think my poster best represents the brand Coca Cola. This
is because it is the most professional way to advertise the brand. On
my poster it includes information about the brand and their
partnerships such as their partnership with the Olympics which I
included into my poster with the sports theme. The target audience
for my poster was men and women aged between 10-50. this is
because people who are interested in sports are normally aged in this
range. My poster will interest people because its background is a very
bright red which will catch the readers attention.
âą Which of your products is the most professional? Why?
â Out of all of my different advertisement, I think that my radio clip was
the most professional, this is because it includes a very calm and
relaxed jazz tune in the back ground which intrigues the listener
because they think it is a very pristine product, also the sound of the
Coca Cola bottle opening, and hitting the glass inside the cup sends a
rush of thirst to the listeners which is most likely to make them buy
from the brand.
