What is Astrophotography? • Taking pictures of celestial objects (stars, planets, galaxies, etc.) for hobby or scientific purposes. • An exciting hobby that every Guyanese can participate in, regardless of age and class. • Budget friendly endeavor, or very expensive depending on what you want to accomplish. • How to start? Least expensive: Beginner’s telescope with a smartphone. Mid-budget: 4-6” aperture Newtonian reflector with DSLR (digital single- lens reflex) camera High budget: 6” and above aperture with DSLR or CCD (charged coupled device – mainly for scientific study) • DO NOT SELL YOUR HOUSE OR CAR (which is what I would do)
