      TAKING OF TO THE FUTURE
 NAME :- HARISH.H.NAIR
 BATCH :- B5,AHTM
 CENTER :- FIAT,KOTTAYAM
 Any attempt at any level cannot be satisfactorily completed
without the support and guidance of learned people.
 I would like to express my great gratitude to Mrs. Drynette
Morris ma’am for her constant support and motivation
that has encouraged me to come up with the assignment.
 I am also thankful to all other members of Frankfinn and
my classmates who have rendered their whole hearted
support to all times for the successful completion of this
    assignment
 P 1a(LO1 of unit 4)
 The aviation industry is one of the fastest growing industries
    in the world..
 Now a days these industry is having a lot of crisis
 I THINK THE MAIN REASONS FOR THESE LOSS
    ARE THE FOLLOWS;-
 Lack of employees
 Hike of fuel price
 ABOUT GROWTH
In last 10 years this sector got about 15% of
    development
       Growth in 2010 is 9%
 I am taking 3 news from this industry and
    justifying it.

                    and my news are…….
 Indian airlines will not comply with the European Union's
(EU) carbon charging scheme, according to civil aviation
    minister Ajit Singh.
 Last month, China said its airlines would not pay the EU
    charge.
 Brussels has insisted the carbon charge is essential if it is to
meet its obligation to reduce emissions by 20% by 2020.
 Hundreds of British Airways workers at Gatwick
Airport are set to lose their jobs or be transferred
  to another company
 The carrier said 400 ramp workers, including
baggage handlers, will see their jobs outsourced,
while 170 customer service staff and management
support employees will be laid off under the
  proposals.
 The airlines claim the increasing taxes on flying are
  stifling the economy's recovery
 Gatwick Airport was halted to a standstill today after a
Virgin Atlantic flight bound for Orlando was forced to make
an emergency landing, amid reports that there was a small fire
    on board.
 The aircraft was Airbus A330 and the flight number is VS
    27
 Only 14 were admitted to hospital with minor injuries
After this incident VS apologized the passengers
“We apologies to all of those customers that have suffered a
very difficult experience – we are working around the clock to
ensure that best possible care for everyone involved”
After the emergency
Emily Alner sent ITV News an image of the
injuries she sustained after the plane's emergency
landing.
 Asthma is a disorder that causes the airways of the lungs to
swell and narrow, leading to wheezing, shortness of breath,
    chest tightness, and coughing.
 CAUSES
 SMOKING
 DUST ALLERRGY
 RESPIRATORY INFCTIONS
 SYMPTOMS
 BLUE LIPS
 BREATHLESSNESS
 UNABLE TO SPEAKE(IN SEVERE CASES)
 GIVE MORE FRESH AIR
 SIT HIM/HER IN PROPPED UP POSITION
 GIVE AN INHAILAR
 GIVE HIM/HER REST
Embarkation and disembarkation of UNM’S and
 MOTHER WITH INFANT.
 An unaccompanied minor is a child without the presence of a
    legal guardian
 All unaccompanied minor's documents stays with the crew in
    most airlines
 Crew should introduce his/herself to that passenger
 Crew should explain all the safety equipments, passenger call
button, and they shows the toilet also
 Mostly they seated on aisle seats next to a lady passenger
 UNM’S embarkates first and they disembarks last from a
    flight
 Cabin crew should give more care to that infant

 Mostly they seated on the 1st row

 After getting into the aircraft they will get baby bassinet
 They embarks and disembarks along with all other
    passengers.
An empty bassinet

A mother with infant
 P 4a (LO4 OF UNIT 4)
 1, SMOKE HOOD AND,
 2, FIRE AXE
 smoke hood is a protective
device similar in concept to a
    gas mask

 Smoke hoods present on
    aircraft, also called Protective
    Breathing Equipment (or
    PBEs) typically generate
    oxygen for anywhere from 30
    seconds to 15 minutes
 The crew should check the safety equipments on board
    before the passenger boarding
 In smoke hood the crew should check the follows:-
 A, Check the validity
If it’s date of validity is over then it should be renew.
 B, Quantity check
 C, Humidity indicator
it should be in blue colour
 Smoke hoods are intended to protect victims of fire from the
    effects smoke inhalation.
 To assist in cutting or
    hacking exits or any area
    that is blocked during
    emergencies
 The handle is insulated
    to protect against
    electric shock
 The only thing that the crew should check on this equipment
    is that:-
 The rubber handle is in good condition or not
 Fire axes are provided to obtain emergency access to areas and
parts of the airplane which are not easily accessible (e.g.
behind sidewall, electrical or ceiling panels).
MRIT (UNITS 4 &9)
 As we know the main
responsibility of a cabin crew is
to ensure safety and comfort of
    the passenger
 Their responsibility is to teach
    passengers with all the key
points that are to be considered
prior to take off of plane
 During a flight the crew
    members assist passengers, make
calls on behalf of the captain
and serve food, drinks and sell
    duty free goods.
 Once all the passengers are on
    board then the cabin crew
    demonstrate the emergency
    procedures whilst the plane is
    preparing for take off.
 In case of emergencies, cabin
    crews are there to reassure
    passengers so that they follow
    the correct emergency
    procedures
 They are responsible for
    demonstrating all the procedures
that are involved in the safety and
    security features of passengers.
 His responsibility is to make the passengers feel happy with
    the services and free goods.
 His responsibility is to offer full comfort to the passengers so
that they may enjoy their travelling in all aspects
 Flight attendants play an important role in the success of an
    airline
 The crews need to arrive to the office 2( It differs from
airline to airline) hours before flight, then they attended the
flight briefing by the supervisor where flight briefings were
    given.
 After that they have to do the preflight checking procedures
weather any valid safety equipments or any damaged items
were there, if any thing is there like that then they have to
remove in the presence of their superior.
 AFTER TAKE OFF THE DUTIES ARE:-
 Headsets for the in house entertainment
 Drinks service
 Meal service
 Tea & Coffee
 Cold towels offered to passengers to freshen up after their meal
 Clearing & collecting the meal trays from the passenger
 Duty free goods
 Immigration cards
 Preparing the cabin for landing.
 MEGA PHONE
 A megaphone, speaking-trumpet, bullhorn, blow horn, or
loud hailer is a portable, usually hand-held, cone-shaped horn
used to amplify a person’s voice or other sounds towards a
    targeted direction
 It will use in an aircraft in case the power has lost in PA
    system
 Crew should check the condition of the mega phone
 is it is working
 D (UNIT 4 &9)
We know that the Boeing and the Airbus are the two
 well known aircraft production companies

BOEING FOUNDED IN 1916 HEAD QUARTER
                                    Chicago, Illinois,
                                    U.S., U.S.
AIRBUS FOUNDED IN 1970 HEAD QUARTER
                                    BLAGNAC, FRANCE
 The Boeing 747 is a wide-
    body commercial airliner and
    cargo transport aircraft,
    often referred to by its
    original nickname, Jumbo
Jet, or Queen of the Skies.
 First flight February 9, 1969
 The four-engine 747 uses a
    double deck configuration
    for part of its length
 The Airbus A380 is a
    double-deck, wide-body,
    four-engine airliner
    manufactured by the
    European corporation Airbus,
    an EADS subsidiary.
 The largest passenger airliner
in the world, the A380 made
its maiden flight on 27 April
    2005 .
 It is also termed as
    “SUPER JOMBO” of
    aviation industry
 Windows are bigger
 The Superjumbo can sit
    525 people in the
    standard 3-class layout
    used on most long-
    distance flights, or up to
    853 passengers in the all-
    economy configuration
 The A380 is the latest and biggest plane from Airbus while
the 747 has been Boeing’s flagship for quite some time.

 The biggest difference between the two is size as the A380 is
certainly much bigger than the 747.

 The Airbus A380 has a wingspan that is 15m longer to that
    of the 747

 It is also about 50% heavier than the 747 even when empty.
 The size of the A380 is such that many airport runways are
not equipped to accommodate the huge planes and had to
undergo major renovations to make them fit.
 Date: April 20, 2012 Time: 18:40
 Location: Islamabad, Pakistan
 Operator: Bhoja Airlines Flight: 213
 AC Type: Boeing 737-236
 Reg: AP-BKC cn: 23167/1074
 Aboard:127 Fatalities: 127 Ground: 0
 Route: Karachi - Islamabad
 Details: While on final approach, the jetliner crashed onto
farmland close to Benazir Bhutto International Airport,
breaking up and catching on fire. Heavy winds and a severe
thunderstorm was in the area at the time of the landing. All
121 passengers and crew of 6 were killed

ONE OF THE CREW MEMBER WHO DIED
              IN THIS CRASH
 Bhoja Air Flight 213 (B4-213) was a domestic scheduled
passenger flight operated by the Pakistani airline Bhoja Air

 crashed in bad weather during its approach to Benazir Bhutto
    International Airport, Islamabad

 All 121 passengers and 6 crew members aboard were killed in
    the crash

 This was the inaugural flight of Bhoja Air on this route.
 The Bhoja Air Boeing 737 crash in Pakistan on April 20
could have been caused by a UFO sighting by the pilot,
    unconfirmed reports say
 This flight is crashed because a UFO strike……. But it is an
    unconfirmed say
 By studying about this I believe that it is only because of the
    bad weather conditions
 The landing was attempted during heavy rain and a
    thunderstorm
 The most saddest thing in this crash is that “this flight was
an inaugural flight from Karachi (KHI) to Islamabad (ISB)”
 It was the second deadliest accident in Pakistan aviation.
 I would like to thank Mrs. Drynett Morris ma’am for her
heartful help for doing this assignment and for giving me a
big knowledge about this industry which was unknown to
    me.
