1. RELIABILITY DIV1SION GOALs for 2008/2009 Progress Report on June 30, 2009

1) Increase member value – Develop a small pocket guide book on reliability
profession for members.
Book started and about ¼ complete
2) Populate the Forum library –
Process completed in early 2009 and available through the internet Reliability
division website.
3) Increase Member retention – Stimulate discussion board questions and update
member welcome.
Discussion board now being monitored on a regular basis and questions
increased. Have assigned a board monitor for the future. A Member “Welcome
Letter” was updated in August 2008.
4) Partner with ASQ sections to promote reliability at local level.
a. 5 Regions will hold joint meetings with RD and someone else
Five regions held joint meetings in 2008/09. These were by city,
Minneapolis, Dallas, San Jose, Boston and Denver.
b. Add to contents of past RAMS on “members only” website.
This task not begun in 2008/09
c. Distribute RD journal to members on Opt-Out and timely basis
This task was started in August 2008 and has reduced the number of
hard copies being mailed to members. Approximately 85% of members
receive the Reliability Review electronically around the world.
d. Sponsor one track at future WCQI
Reliability track at 2009 was not accepted by ASQ. No track given.
e. Sponsor at least one Fellow nomination.
No RD sponsored Fellow in 2009
5) Improve Division Process
a. Update new Division process in 2008/2009 –
Only minor work in this area
b. Update website for members –
ASQ website update has started in March 2009 and will continue.
