8. About this book
This book was created to share the pictures and ideas
inspired by reading When Henry Caught Imaginitis by Nick
Bland (2007) with Year 1 Library classes. In the book
Henry and his real surroundings are drawn in black and
white, whilst imaginary things are in colour. The students
were encouraged to use this same coding in their
pictures.
The front cover uses part of an image titled Our world of
treason by Ibrahim Lujaz, sourced from flickr , and used
with permission under a Creative Commons Attribution
licence.
To create the content individual student pages were
scanned and inserted onto the slides in random order.
Each student then told the teacher what to type on the
page to complete the sentence “When I catch imaginitis
I…”, and recorded their narration as an audio note. The
teacher then added transitions and animations to the
slides and text boxes, and inserted the audio notes on
each slide.
